its sad. I crawled into the van this am for a quick smoke and to shoot the breeze and they told me. Those guys work their tails off to keep out crap flying. Seeing that we have mostly team player captains, they got the word and know what to do. Write it up later, or earlier etc. It was also funny that the fed hit every colgan plane in iad this morning as they pulled in ( i was in the bridge watching). The awesome thing about colgan is that when you f with one of us, the rest will back you.

I know it's hard for you to understand yet, but eventually you will see how they operate. Number one, Spend the least amount possible.

So what happens if that cost money down the road? They don't really worry about that. I'm not lying. It's the honest truth. Need some examples?

We had an aircraft recently that had a blown tire at an outstation. Pretty simple right? They call outstation Mx that is on the field. Did PCL want them to fix it? No. Just give us an estimate first. PCL doesn't like the estimate so they call someone to come over that isn't even at the airport. Total delay? Over six hours just because of price. I don't run the airline, and can't explain it, but that's the way they do business.

There are literally hundreds of other examples, and it happens on a daily basis. It's ridiculuous, but you sorta get used to it. Sad.

I know I don't see the big picture, (Ironically I heard the "big picture" was once viewed being carried out of the mens rest room in the HEF mnx hangar; never to be seen again: but I digress) but I don't know how we turn a profit with the way that we operate. I'm sure that we do, but I just don't know how. Doing the "Colgan" gets old quick and some days I have less tolerance for it than others. I just want to go to work, fly the plane, and get home sometime (or I'll settle for on the same day) as originally scheduled. It doesn't have to happen that way everyday....that would be an office job and thats not what I signed up for...but the adventure everyday is intolerable to lots of folks.

Any comments from the Godfather?

Did anyone hear about promotional video being filmed in Manassas this weekend. Everyone is supposed to show up and sing "Simply the Best" by Michael McDonald. It's kind of like the "We are the world" song in the 80's. Instead of Farm Aid, proceeds benefit will benefit the Save Leroy foundation.
