OKCPLT...with 600 hours...i don't think you know what hard work is..the next time you depart ANC in a snowstorm and fly all night and shoot a VOR approach into subic bay, PI in heavy rain...then voice your opinion of what hard work is...your flight instructor is waiting for you...

There, I updated my profile for ya. Moron.

Now go get me some coffee while I tell the pax's what's going on. (seeing as how you guys are used to getting your own coffee).

Actually the company makes them big jugs of coffee before they head out and they don't get any attitude about it.

I poured concrete and the girls were checking me out all day. I made twice as much money as I am making now and now I scare them away with my bad posture and my hat head and the bags under my eyes. I was home every night by 5:00PM and drunk on the beach by 7:00PM. My coworkers didn't seem to stressed either since they were high all day.

I was never stressed about slamming into a mountain at 600 mph or landing in Lake Michigan in Jan. Speaking of the FMS. It is not stressfull if it is programmed correctly. Ask the Independence Air 319 crew if they would have rather been high pouring concrete the day they decsended to a couple hundred feet after takeoff. Or the crew in the Air France that hit the trees at the air show.

I bet they would rather have been pouring concrete.

There are a lot of pilots in this industry that have no business being here. If a person DOES possess the mental capacity for it, it is an easy job.

Two rules of thumb:

1. DO NOT get married, or if you are divorced stay that way.

2. LIVE IN YOUR DOMICILE.

Follow those two rules and it is the easiest job in the world. Break one or both and you have just signed up for the house of pain.

My $.02

You still sound like the 600 number was more accurate. Now you just sound like you're lying in your profile. :smash:

My amendments:

1. Never marry a good looking girl. She may leave you. An ugly girl may leave you too...but who cares? So, if you must get married, make it to someone you can stay married to. (27+ years for me)

2. Dang right! You make more money than your classmates, and you'll have more time at home to irritate your kids!

As for PA's, one of the techniques I use when I'm getting the ground delay run-around is to tell the pax that I'm going to let them listen in on what we're dealing with. Then I key the PA mic and hold it up to the speaker so they can hear me call ramp/ops/Ground/Clearance/etc with a request for an update.

When they hear the disembodied voice on the speaker reply to me that "they're working on it, but don't know", the pax know my crew is on their side and not at fault for what is delaying the operation.

It's unedited truth. The F/A's love it. The pax appreciate it. Everybody is happy and I can get back to my soduku puzzle...

Don't get married?

Glad I didn't use your advice because my family is the only thing that kept me going and is the only thing I look forward to.

The Red Tail system can kiss my family's @$$.

Sounds like a good bumper sticker to me. :)
