I started out there as a captain, and left to take a job flying a Lear. I would recommend finding a good flight school that you can fly consistantly, get your cfii and mei if you don't already have them. I can assure you that those skills will be put to use and if you don't have solid instrument skills, it will bite you, the best way to do that is to teach, teach, and teach more. And once the skills are solid then move on to PacWings or something like that, flying cargo for Airnet or Ameriflight if you can get on there.
Don't try to cut corners. I tried, it didn't work and all it did was frustrate me in the end and then I had to take the time to build the skills back up that I lost. I'm a better pilot today for having taught.

RichardRambone said:That was great info on Pac Wings I really appreciate it. I have about 570 hours and this SIC program sounded great. How long ago did you work there and how much did they pay? My main concern was the cost of living and if they even paid enough to sustain a living just working for them. Also, why didnt you go on to upgrade to Captain? But if you're recommending low time guys find another way maybe I should. My job now gives me flight time in waves but its been really slow lately.
