Ahhhh....140, the old Battle Wagon. That was the one with about 20 layers of paint, and the barren generic grey interior, right? At one time it was leased to CHQ with the old Canadian Airlines paint job on it, but with the tail painted out plain blue. They told us that it had the USX paint under the Canadian, but after it was leased for a trial season up north they just left it that way when we put it into service from PIT. Looks like it still had that Fugly paint:

CT, 140 still has that paint job. It was always interesting trying to match paint for touch ups since all we have is US and UA paint which matches absolutely nothing on her.

Wait, we touch up the paint? Where? When?

Half the nose cones need touch-up work. Well I guess that can not be true anymore since half the aircraft are being sold or returned.

Big announcement coming tommorrow. . . . tic tock . . . tic tock . . .

140 is actually an old eagle plane, that plane was suppose to be the first in about 10 deliveries and was painted US Express and sat in front of the Indy hanger about 4 months and never made it to revenue (ever hear the saying don’t believe it till you see it on the ramp?). Wexford was in the midst of buying CHQ and put stop to the deal, about a year later the plane came back to us with the Canadian paint job.

Where it sat until Feb. 2003, when I had the "honor" of flying that fleabag to its' new home in FWA. I really enjoyed every single part of the anti/deice system failing intermittently or completely in a 25 minute flight... ;)
