Well, I Should Be Meeting My Goal Of Hitting The 500 Hour Point Mid December, All Single Engine Time, Oh Well! Should Be Getting My Multi Engine by End Of Next Month Also X-Mas Gift For My Self!

Anyway, Who Are The Known Bottom Feeder Employers "Single Engine & Multi Engine" If Any In The Pacific North West? "Oregon Or Washington"

I Don't Care The Type of Flying, I Don't Care How Crummy The Pay "I Will Not Pay To Work", I Don't Care What Hours/Shift. I Just Want To Be In The Air Even If Its Alone At 3AM.

I Am Currently Keeping My Self Busy Ferrying Airplanes It Seems To Be Working For Time Building & Some Real Unique Experiences. Some Of Them Airplanes I Think Are Garbage & Don't Belong In The Air But Pass Their Inspections.

Personally, I think you're passing up very valuable experience by not putting in a stint as a CFI. If you think that somehow you'll be better off, you won't be. In any teaching situation it's always the instructor who learns the most. Don't short change yourself.

Ok, this may be lengthy. . . .

I'm SICK of your posts. Not only will you probably weasle your way up to the top without teaching someone how to fly, but you are willing to WH0RE yourself out. Furthermore, there is plenty of information that you can research. This is the INTERNET!!

I don't think you have to be concerned about what hours or shifts you will get, because you have to realize that you are a stupid whipping boy. Before you give the gift of a multi-engine rating, you should seriously consider instructing. You have to understand that a multi-engine rating is worthless until you have a multi-engine airplane to fly. Sometimes, this can be difficult with insurance requirements. Either way your goin' the retarded way.

. . . .also, your grammar sucks butt and you're not cute by capitilizing every single word in your post.

At least I am flying right! That’s all I care about. Yea I know my grammar sucks. Yes this is the Internet! I am not writing a book! My Multi-Engine will not be a problem neither will be the time building part. I could get my ratings 100 + hours of multi time on my own out of my pocket by this time next year. All it would take is for me to set a goal and work very hard to pay for it. Working hard, That’s what I have had to do to get this far it has worked well. I got to take the wife out for her B-Day & plan a flight and pack my bags.

Be Back Next Week!

500 hours, well you qualify to be a flight attendant. Good luck in your future choices. Continental is hiring F/As.

NW...Wake Up!!!

It's been stated before, but here it goes again:

Get the CFI/II, then MEI.

1. You could double your total time in less than a year.
2. CFIs learn as much as their students.
3. Someone else pays for your flight time, and you get a check. (wow..you can actually get paid to fly)

So, spend that multi-time money on your CFI. The rewards will come back 10 fold.

On second thought..... maybe someone who is avoiding the CFI path so strongly should NOT instruct. I don't think I'd want you instructing me just because a bunch of guys on a B.Board told you you should.

You say you don't want to pay for training. Go run up that credit card on all that flight time you'll have to BUY!!!

Good Luck on your search. Maybe someone nice will read your post and just give you a job.

I never said I did not want to pay for my training! I have paid for all my training and I am happy doing what I am doing was just wanting a list of bottom feeder employers in the Pacific Northwest for when the time is right! Flight Instruction is too risky & insurance is to expensive to fully cover my a$$. Now if I was 19 again and had nothing really to lose, yea! Why the hell not! I think it would be a thrill to teach someone how to fly just insurance cost & liability prohibits it at this point. As I said I am keeping my self busy ferrying airplanes I am one always up for an adventure!

Paying for your training and "Pay for training" are two different things. Do a search on here for "pay for training."

None of the above. Get smart and get out of the business. Your crazy to consider getting into it. You will have no life, make no money, in fact less then the illegal immigrant behind the counter at Burger King. Oh yeah and it dosent help with the ladies. GET OUT!!! I wish I had never taken my first flight.

I feel sorry for you. I've had a great career, I've flown world-wide, I've had a great life, I have a great family, I make a lot of money and have an "adequate" retirement in place, and best of all, I've been married to the same woman for over 32 years - all while flying part 91 corporate. I'm nothing special, I know many people who have done the same thing.

I'm sorry...

I apologise if the preceding post sounded boastful - it wan't meant that way. I just get a little annoyed when guys tell others to get out. There are a lot of different and viable career paths in aviation and they can all lead to fullfilling and worthwhile careers.

Your comments were just fine. I'm sick of everyone that complains about this job also. Many people get into this job thinking its not a job and that they can breeze through life. Then they realize they might have to actually work and they get all cranky. If mamba20 didn't research into what he was getting into whose fault was that. My only comment to mamba20 is that there are plenty of ditches that need digging and I sure there is a spot for you there.

hey Biz, go Fu#% yourself! You have no idea of my history with this career and all I can do is offer from what I know from my experience which has been lackluster. I do enjoy to fly, very much, but at the same time the fun is not worth the lifestyle that it brings.

You think ditches need digging? Vote for Bushs guest worker program then.

Good advise, I will go Fu#% myself. And if its not worth the lifestyle that it brings why do you still do it? I guess it is worth the lifestyle. I'm just saying if you don't like your job there are other things to do. Other than trying to bring the rest of us down.

Life is rough.....

Is this the experience you had to offer?:erm:

Why don't you take this opportuinty to offer your EXPERIENCE instead of your OPINION and allow the reader to make up their mind.

Hmmm..............I can't say I understand.

Flying, like anything if life, is what YOU make it.

FWIW, Here are some of the general principles upon which I have based my life. They've stood me well during my career...

#1. The glass is always half full.
#2. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.
#3. What goes around comes around.
#4. Happiness is NOT a destination, it is a way of travel.

Oh well, enough of this.

Not to late for you to leave! I saw a "Now Hiring" sign at Burger King.

I ferry planes around and Im joyed that I dont have to flight instruct. I have my CFI and have fun teaching occasionally but Im happy I didnt have to try and depend on student activity to make a living. Keep that ferry job its better than you currently think. You get to go on cross countries dont you? Cfi's dont get to do that on a regular basis. Keep ferrying planes until those magic 135 mins and then move on. Dont whore yourself out this early. Be patient and wait for a better opportunity to present itself before you move on. Theres no reason to be miserable at a bottomfeeder just because you qualify for it.

Hello, just got back last night from a ferry flight KHAI to KLGB what a ride! It was in a decent AA5A with long range tanks. I love ferrying airplanes it is a blast it takes me places I have always wanted to go. I did not get in to flying to become wealthy, I am in it for the fun of it that is all!

Here is one I live by!

We are insanely lucky to get to ferry planes. If it paid better I probably wouldnt move on someday.

How much do you charge? When I did it, I did alright with it. Still do the occasional ferry flight for some extra greenbacks.

you're a tool

You start the thread looking for bottomfeeders. Writing $hit like...

Pilots with 500 hours and this attitude wind up smoking craters in the mountains.

Then you follow up with ....I don't care about the money, I'm in it for the fun that's all. Quite the professional you are. If you don't care then get out. Become a recreational pilot and "fly for fun". Give that job to someone that does care and needs the money.

You'll learn more teaching and with less risk to yourself if you CFI a little longer. Long hours of XC time is not going to get your IFR skills up to speed as quick as putting several students through their instrument rating. Once you become good technically, THEN the real world experience will be more meaningful, since you can profit better from it.
