What's the recommendations for shoes that are "TSA-safe." Looking for something black (no surprise here), and really comfortable (once again, no surprise).
Thanks in advance ;{)
'Props

Shoes

I bought a pair of Rockports last month. The shoe guy told me that all Rockports are airport friendly and I haven't had any problem with mine.

They're pretty comfortable too.

Justin "ATP", great boot, very comfy, and airport approved!! Not to mention I would rather be in boots pre-flighting in slush, snow, and Type-IV.

AA

Oh ya, they look great!

Ecco, never had to take them off, never buzzed, very comfortable, very durable, two years and still going strong.

I wear Dr. Martens. They are very comfy, 3 years and still going strong. If you polish and black out the yellow stitches around the bottom I don't think they look too bad.

Nothing like a badass pair of Lucchese Ropers....sure you gotta take 'em off, but they last forever, look great, and are full of old school steel shanks and nails! hahaha

Gotta agree 110% on the Ecco's.

I've tried Rockport, Deerstag, Doc Martins, and a few others.

Eccos are the most comfortable, most durable shoes I've tried, and I've never once had to take them off for security.

A bit pricey, but worth it IMHO.

Deer Stags....very comfortable and no break-in time.

Ecco's seem to be the most popular choice. I wear Thorogood ankleboots that have never beeped once. They do require a short breakin period, but I'm on my second pair and the first pair lasted ten years.

Dunham brand. Composite shank, no beep.

The best part about Deer Stags is they are cheap. About 40 bucks or so. They actually have a few styles that are somewhat hip. I go for the slip-ons, "Vegas" model. You can purchase them at Burlington Coat Factory or online. No shanks, no worries, and they are very comfortable.

Bug Mega

Buy the Ecco's--trackers with the smooth toe. Then put a military spit shine on 'em so you can bug the heck out of MegaDeath. Just technique, though. WS

Ecco without a doubt.
About a buck and a half but worth the cost. Feel like you have been wearing them for months the first time you put them on!:D

Anyone know the official policy on shoe removal (have a link) I was just ORDERED by the TSA in Savannah to take my shoes off. According to the agent "it's official policy". It's getting to the point that I want to print something off the TSA web site and jam it in their face.

And I wear Ecco's that don't have any metal in them.

BS flag going up right now. Those are the dorkiest looking shoes I have ever seen.

You couldn't get action in a whorehouse with hundred dollar bills falling out of your pockets wearing those shoes.

at least people see my shoes. most people are sleeping when your wearing yours, except your co-workers.

I wore a pair of Doc's for 8 years. Believe it or not, I almost wore them out. They were getting kind of ratty so I bought a new pair. Never buzzed once. Most comfortable dress shoes I've ever had.

Oh yeah, I bought them in HKG with black stitching. I've seen them in Canada and on the internet like that too.

AAflyer, I like your boots but for Type-IV days this is what I'm wearing.

Shoes off if you are not in uniform is my understanding.

Those look pretty good, but I wear 11's, and it looks like they start at 12's.

those are UK sizes. I think a UK12 is a US11. But, I'm not a full-time shoe guy.
