Shame on World Airways

Every newspaper in the United States should be chastising World Airways management's decision to leave AMERICAN employees stranded in a dangerous land. The fact that the pilots were on strike does not make it ok to take security away from your employees, to possibly set them up for kidnapping or worse.

I am so disgusted with their decisions. I am surprised the military will charter with these World Airways clowns because there is honor in the military. You dont leave ANYBODY behind. Yet these idiots are the largest military charter airline in the states.

This rant is in no way against the World Airways flightcrews. Those guys and gals obviously do a fantastic job. My rant is with the management scumbags that have decided to leave AMERICANS in a foreign land. They took their security away, knowing they were putting their OWN people at risk. How do they sleep at night? Where is Senator McCarthy when you need him? If this is not Anti-American behavior, I dont know what is.

At least get them to Europe or South Africa even. The nearest "safe" country would have sufficed. World Airlines....you are a bunch of scum sucking pieces of crap!!! The people responsible for this of course.

Thanks for the support! Fortunately the Union membership was able to purchase tickets for them out of their own pockets to get the 4 crew members home; they arrived home safely a few days ago. World Flight ops has stranded crews in China, Germany, and many other places around the world while canceling their hotel rooms and their company issued AMEX cards. They are telling the pilots that they are suspended immediately without pay or benefits and that they are on their own to return home. This is a violation of our CBA which we are required to comply with - apparently mgmt. doesn't feel so compelled to do the same. There will be many lawsuits filed, this is going to be one H*LL of a fight! Once again, thanks for the support.

Whats the word with the guys on probation? I heard a rumor that World may fire them, I have a few ole ATA buddies that went there and haven't had a chance to talk with them to see whats goin on. Anyone know?

Daly might have been stridently anti-union but would he abandon his own employees in what amounts to war zone?
From what little I know of the guy that doesn't seem his style. I'm not sure if he'd do a lock out and shut down his his own revenue stream voluntarily.

In any case I think we all agree about the actions of the current managment.

I just ordered a used copy of the book. Should be an interesting read.

This stranding of flight crews is a huge mistake that will haunt Hollis and his fellow thugs. He's just given the pilot group something they'll never forget, sort of a "remember the Alamo" affair.
