Just curious if anyone else is in the Sept. 14th class for Horizon, I'm looking for a roommate in PDX but have no idea how big the class is or who is in it. If anyone needs a place to crash let me know, I have a two bedroom apartment and looking to fill the extra room. Thanks.

Congratulations! Welcome to the wacky world of Horizon Air.

It is so typical of Horizon that I find out about a September class on the internet before it shows up on the official Training "Plan". The "new" "plan" dated today doesn't even show the August 22 class filled, let alone even showing a September class. Classic.

Thanks for the replies and I'm really looking forward to getting started at Horizon. I already live in PDX but just lost my roommate so if any of you Horizon guys know anyone looking for a place let me know, or if there are any people in the upcoming class looking for a place to live.

Not really sure about the class deal, when I interviewed the August class was not even an option so I'm guessing that it's full. Rumor is the Sept. class will have 18-22 people in it, but not sure how true that is. I was told that this class has people for all three airplanes in it, sounds like the hiring is really taking off now. Hope to you see guys out there and thanks for the welcome aboard.

Welcome to the cicrus.....

DO NOT drink the kool-aid. You will be presented with many, many glases of it in the coming weeks.

You've been warned.

I will keep that in mind, thanks for the advice. Any word on the new contract or is it still all up in the air. I'm guessing any news on it right now is probably just rumors but curious if anyone has any info.

Since you asked....

They want a 30% paycut (just because AS got one last May) never mind the fact that we keep making money. They just don't have the balls to come out and say they want 30%. They want a migration to "market" wages. Hopefully you and the rest of the new hires coming on have done your homework and know that we can't be compared to anybody else out there becasue one, we're CAT3 fleetwide. Name ONE other regional that has CAT3 fleetwide capability. Two, we fly four ourselves for the most part. Yes, we fly Frontier jetexpress but we ain't going bankrupt without that lift agreement so we're in a good position there. And three, we make money.

Don't believe the spin that they'll put on you over there at ops. Management doesn't even know how to spin information to begin with. They have to hire an outside union busting firm to do it for them. That tells me a lot about how they operate and where their priorities are.
