It's "Don Quixote" moron. I'll contribute $5 so that you can buy a dictionary and learn some grammar.

Ah, a fine specimen of the Flightinfo Spelling Troll, undisturbed in its natural habitat!

Too bad spelling and grammar are two different things...

The fractionals are hiring and you can work well past 60. You will have to start out at the bottom again and see how a FO's life is and trade in that 6 figure income for a more modest 40k. Flew with one guy that retired USAF,SWA and now still going at 67. I think he needs a hobby.

Holy Epiphany, Batman!

I just figured it out. I win-win-win!

Turning 60? Move to France!

1. Hairy armpits on surly women ROCK!
2. You can fly 'til you're 65!
3. You'll never have to shower again!
4. You can still enjoy JFK layovers in crappy hotels!
5. The Euro is totally kicking the dollar's butt!
6. You'll have nothing to whine about!

Hey, isn't the coalition against age discrimination saying that young guys are unsafe compared to old guys.........age discrimination?

I believe they argue that less experience equates to lower level of safety.

That's playing on public perceptions. We all know there are some 30 year olds out there that are sharp as a tack while some guys who have been doing this for 30 years are downright scarey.

Only one problem with your logic, everybody in france retires at 60, not just the pilots.

Sure a few pilots still have a good retirement and WANT to retire at sixty. They are a dying breed. (sorry for the pun).

However many who are for the age 65 rule change do NOT have a good retirement, blame it on what ever you will (bad planning, three divorces, airline bankruptcys etc) but it is a fact. They need the income and if they want to keep their seat and the age rule is changed fine, they are no more greedy than a younger pilot who wants his seat and paycheck, get over it.

Either way be careful what you wish for because it may come true.

You can deposit the $5 in my paypal account; PM me and I'll give you the e-mail address of my account.

Now how exactly does a dictionary improve my grammar? I thot a dickshunery was fer spelun. And I'm the moron.

Senior Pilots Coalition Lobbies Against "60" Rule
Published on: August 2, 2007

The Senior Pilots Coalition says that Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Marion Blakey could help to ease the current U.S. airline pilot shortage and minimize inconvenient and even dangerous airline delays by expediting the FAA's elimination of the discriminatory "Age 60 Rule,"

The "delays" are dangerous? "Leave no pilot behind" will reduce delays? How f-ing stupid is that logic?! In my decade of jerking gear I flew with as many or more now-retired pilots as anybody and without any doubt: when a pilot gets near retirement, operational issues are a distant second to GAT, FAE and what exact month to pull the plug. They don't care about anything else, they're about to walk out the door! Keeping this group around will probably INCREASE delays!

"Leave no [senior] pilot behind" in this case actually translates: Senior pilots-leave nothing behind!
