The hubris of the SWA crowd never ceases to amaze me.
After over 24+ years of dragging the back end of pay scales and benefits in the industry and sucking up to your management friends (like flying for free at one point just to save the company, where is your self-respect?), you are the best paid by default not design. Had 9-11 not happened you would still be losing pilots to other airlines every month just like you were up and until the day the towers came down.
Don't sit around and act like this is some sort of master plan. It is just a matter of time before someone comes in and undercuts your ass when your costs too high.
airline pride kills me.... so dumb in so many ways- fly for who you want.
but at least when southwest was the lowest paid- they still made more than your average accountant.
the cuts the legacies have all taken are offensive b/c you can't progress as an adult as a junior FO. After the extended regional c-scale career-- to be rewarded w/ your current contracts.... and furloughs....
if you're at a major- you should have some perspective and just shut up.

I can't make any sense out of what you are saying; I suppose since SWA pilots made more than accountants that they did okay during the bulk of the history of their company? Thats' a defense of undercutting industry pay and benefit standards, to compare a given work group with someone outside of the industry?
The undercutting of various pilot groups is the crux of the problem. I agree with the notion of the stupidity of 'airline pride', the line pilot at SWA is no more responsible for the success of their company than a line pilot at a legacy for their travails.
"Can't progress as an adult as a junior FO"? What?
