BLUE ANGELS IN SDF FOR THUNDER
Crewmembers living in Louisville or who will be in SDF for the
weekend may want to check out the Thunder Over Louisville Air
Show. For those who aren't familiar with Thunder, it's said to
be the world's largest fireworks show and is part of the Kentucky
Derby festivities. The fireworks are preceded by an annual air
show along the Ohio River. For the first time, the famed Blue
Angels will join the line up. According to the Courier Journal,
a C-130 known as "Fat Albert" will lead the pack of six F/A-18
Hornets shortly after 3:00 p.m. Other notable aircraft taking
part in the event are the L-39 Albatross, T-28 Warbirds, F-15,
A-10 Warthog and B-1 Bomber among many others.
The fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m.
