RWY 26 Lighting

Has anyone operated at LEX recently at night? Fltplan.com supplied information shows the MIRL for 8/26 is OTS IDFNTLY. Anyone?

Of course, even the most currently supplied NOTAMs are not always 100% correct. I've been to many places where a runway was NOTAM'd closed for the time of operation, and found it open and available on arrival.

I ask this considering the dep. 0607 time and a sunrise time almost an hour later.

the news said the crew on the voice recorder commented about the lack of lights.

Keeping in mind that this could mean that LIRL could have been operational and on at the time of departure.

But if it was not operational, I have ZERO ideas on how any crew would accept any takeoff clearance on an unlighted runway in the dark - especially without querying the tower first.

Do you know what the comment was - taxiway or runway lacking lights?
