The OP asked about RVR 600 so that's all I listed.

Here are the other T/O RVR conditions.

RVV 1/4 or TDZ RVR 1600
TDZ RVR is controlling.
MID RVR may be substituted if TDZ RVR is NA

Authorized:
1600/MM/MM (+ HIRL or CL or RCLM or AVR*)
MM/1600/MM (+ HIRL or CL or RCLM or AVR*)

TDZ RVR 1200 & ROLL RVR 1000
TDZ RVR is controlling.
MID RVR may be substituted if TDZ RVR is NA
CL
At least 2 operative RVR systems (MID RVR may be substituted for TDZ RVR or ROLL RVR)

Authorized:
1200/MM/1000 + CL
MM/1200/1000 + CL
1200/1000/MM + CL

*AVR = Adequate Visual Reference and is defined as the ability to indentify the takeoff surface and maintan directional control. (i.e., HIRL, RCLM & CL or runway markings)

No, if one of the 500 was 1000 you could.

Also to all reading this stuff make sure you look at your company ops specs. This is what most people are referring to, but just because it is in my specs does not necessarily mean it is in yours.

I have seen departure alternate mentioned, but if you are taking off in conditions that won't allow you to return to the takeoff airport in an emergency then you must have a takeoff alternate, which must be within 1 hours flying time on a single engine in still air.

How do you explain RVR? When can you and when can't you take off. What do the numbers 6-6-6 mean...Try not to give smart answers please. Thanks

I tried, but I can't not give a smart answer.

If you've got a "A320 Type" shouldn't you already know?

Read your Jepps. The t/o mins are listed on the 10-9 page. Another dumb interview question. If/when you get online your FOM has that stuff in it ... I'm sure as heck not relying on my memory to make that decision.
