Oh yeah,

Waves a tool......don't know what he said because I block him!

coward.
Sensitive one at that. I get a lot of flack and speak my mind - but I do not use the ignore function.

It isn't delta threads- Its outsourcing threads and getting arrogant legacy unions to realize they are the main problem.
I know bc they furloughed me, then outsourced my job- and I never said I worked at Delta- but delta was the first to outsource jets to college grads and have been the most egregious in an industry that has been awful.

You must recognize a problem in order to solve it.
Many at delta have said the right things and seem to get it. They have not yet PROVED that they get it.

Is he talking again?

Wave, if I wanted to hear from you, I'd open my zipper!!!

Being DTW based and seeing what seems like thousands of RJs everyday I fly, I would vote a big fat no to any increase in RJ numbers, or increase in size of RJs. I don't know any Captain I have flown with on the bus who would vote to allow it either.

Godspeed!

The OYSter

It's tough when you are number 12 for the runway and there is only ONE mainline plane between you and the hold short line. I've seen it there in Detroit and Atlanta many times. Richard will find away to get what he wants. I predict more relief on 76 seaters. I think DALPA will hold the line on any seats above that.

I see it there too, and it sickens me. But, we know those 50 seaters will be going away due to inefficiency. I hope not one more 76 seater is allowed, but I too have a feeling DALPA will allow some replacements. I will vote a big no if so. I don't think it would be one for one, but I will still vote no if that is the case. I also don't think larger than 76 seaters will ever get in any future TA. That would be suicide for ALPA at DL.

Godspeed!

Who are you and what have you done with Redflyer.....I agree with him!

We get it. Southwest is perfect.
I'm sorry you got furloughed. Unfortunately, I was told that, "you're not offically an airline pilot until you've been furloughed". So I got that covered for my career, I hope. I was furloughed in 92. Sucks. I had to go sell cars to make ends meet. You ended up at SW because of 9/11. I'll ask this again. Had you not got furloughed, would you have even looked at SW? It obviously wasn't your first choice. Prior to bankruptcies of the early to mid 2000's SW had never done anything to make the industry better. Pay? Pay for your type? Retirement? Benefits? QOL? You seriously need to back off the throttle a little, as your arrogance that I see displayed is the same arrogance the legacy pilots had in the late 90's. Look what happened there. It's the old... "people in glass houses." You really should look in the mirror.

You're the one trying to make this about southwest- it's a distraction-
Pilots land where they land- the choices they make while they're there matter.

Worng! You keep insulting the job you left to justify your move. Good for you. I'm happy. The minute you continue your diatribe on calling the legacy guys "sellouts," I'll continue to call you on it. BTW, how's it feel to be, "just another legacy?" You know. Losses, mergers, SLI issues, management that thinks you're over paid? Get used to it, it's a new dawn!

Match Southwest's pay, reserve guarantee, average duty days (9 hours is what I read) and majority 3-day trips, and I'll be thrilled!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Wave is going to be just fine in the 'New Dawn'.

I guess if you call being a Narrowbody F/O for 15-18 years "Fine"! He aint that senior!

Scoot- don't want to be called a sellout, there's a real easy solution - don't sell out scope for a biscuit.

And it's pretty funny that the coward who has me on ignore is still trying to flame-

I've said it before- ill say it again- I'm comfortable with my aviation career- and really would rather fly as an FO for Swa for the rest of my life than continue making the compromises my old legacy career was forcing on me- or rather deal with the effects as my senior peers compromised my friends to save them- that's me- but keep up the sellout logic-
That's what that argument is- doesn't matter what's right, and it doesn't matter if the position is even worth having anymore- as long as you end up a "widebody captain"-
Its silly ethics to me.
And I've been on the record as being just as critical of my militantly union/ultra-conservative contradictory Swa brethren- I work my business in part bc my aviation peers won't support their unions politically- but of course DALPA guys will critique me just bc I'm a Swa pilot- haters, ya know-
To me, pilots sellout only when they become as dependent on their airline as a crack addict is on welfare and handouts.
I choose SWA but can walk away at any time- there are a lot of reasons the work is worth it- that's a big one.

Lemme guess.....Wave's blocked...but he went on schooling us on market forces and how a mainline pilots kept his sorry butt down to the point where he had to buy a type to move up in the world?

Close?

Hey, here's a thought Bill...

Since you can't seem to NOT comment/respond to Wave on this thread, why don't you unblock him so you can actually make a cogent rebuttal, or any kind of argument for that matter, instead of just the random noise you have been making? There's a lot of things I disagree with Wave about, but his argument here on this thread has some merit, whether one agrees with all of it or not. I have to say that you pretending that you don't know what's going on, just so you can make a sweeping dismissal is petulant and childish. Pretty soon, you'll be reduced to such witty retorts as, "I know you are Wave, but what am I?" And then of course, the rest of us will all say, "good comeback, Potsie."

Or you could just pretend to ignore me as well. Your choice.

No Bubba...

You raise good points.....I won't block you, I only block those who act like they are smarter than all and preach from what he believes is a high pulpit.

I'm not going to waste any 1's and zeros unblocking his stupidity for me to read.

Speaking of smart...did you know you used cogent and petulant in the same thread on an FI board??? What are you trying to do to us dummies on here? ;)

I looks like it takes a village, the dysfunction in the Delta/regional area is based upon the history of Delta trading away jobs faster than any other company in the history of aviation. It doesn't matter if it is a rumor or not, it is based upon truth.
