Not in a hundred quadrillion years is Alaska interested in anything on the East coast.

Don't worry even if it's true the East will screw it up for us. I've heard it said that the east could screw up winning the lottery. It's true and for us being bought by Alaska would be like winning the lottery. That is if you could shuck the eastholes and keep their gates. I should have stayed at Horizon. Flying turboprops the rest of my life would be better than being tied off to the Titanic as she slowly goes down.

Come on people...if you are going to start rumors, let's at least TRY to make them somewhat plausible.

This is not a rumor - this is the truth _

No matter what the scenario - Doug Parker and associates will make millions - and the rest of us - well you how that story goes!

Sound like a great scenario for Alaska - merge with Airways , see your unit costs go up 50%, watch Southwest come in and take over SEA 'cause you can no longer compete due to your high costs, listen to east pilots tell you no one lives out there anyway and there's no money in aviation west of the Ohio R. Sounds like a done deal to me.

Now now, just wait 'till a westie gets on here and explains to you how valuable PHX is and how they were just fine out there without any of the revenue that gets produced in the east and how they made soooo much money flying outta PHX that they just up and bought USAir (or to hear a famous general tell it, they had enough credit to do it).

No, Alaska wouldn't want all this east coast stuff. Check the books and you'll find that PHX makes all the $$
This is of course why all west pilots feel entitled to fly the left seat of the A330 on trans Atlantic routes that they had no dream of ever flying as America West pilots. It's what they call "Integrity"

All that revenue got USAir into bankruptcy how many times?

Oh my good this is like trying to talk to a three year old. How many times do I have to repeat myself? Alaska wants the EAST flying. To AVOID being aquired by a larger airline. It would be ALASKA PURCHASING US AIRWAYS. It's really true most airline pilots are stupid. No wonder management finds you all so easy to manipulate.

That would be a GREAT combo. Enjoy that! It will be so much fun for someone to buy a ticket from Fayetteville, NC to Charlotte on Alaska Air. Those hillbillies will ask "Hey Pervis, are we flyin that Eskimo lookin Hillary Clinton plane again?" Oh wait, Alaska WANTS to change it's name to USAir? Great plan, stan. And a change in control would give those Easties a 50% raise. Sounds like a great start.

Bye Bye--General Lee

GL,

I genuinely LMAO at that one.

Plus, I just don't see how we'll have the resources to buy USAIR after we purchase HAL this fall.;)

You hardly would have the cash to "buy" HAL. Hawaiian has a very strong balance sheet, about 400 million in cash on hand. I don't think AK would want to use up all their available cash to purchase a bigger share of the Hawaii market. Interesting to note though, the largest shareholder in Hawaiian is.... Fidelity Investments.. So I don't discount the possibility of anything can happen with the stock. I don't see our push into Asia and our Airbuses being much of match to AK.

The other thing to consider, much of what makes us successful in the Hawaii market is the fact that we are Hawaiian. I know it's a cliche' but people really do feel like they are in Hawaii when they board us as opposed to waiting till the end of the flight. We have a very loyal and large passenger base that could go away if another name is painted on the side of the airplane and non local people staffed them.

Green, they show alot more of both sides than anyone else. Just like every libtard you only want to see your side. Your name fits, you are green.

Take your Red vs Blue somewhere else, boys. This is about Alaska and USAir.
