Good posts, guys! De-motivation is the logical result to the current situation. I'm not one bit surprised that Options pilots want to...move at the speed of negotiations. The FLOPS have brought it upon themselves. In my frustration during the NJA contract battle I told the pilots....just earn the paycheck and we all know that shouldn't take much effort. Different pilotgroup but same circumstances. At what the Options pilots are paid that means doing the bare minimum and certainly no favors like OT, no going the extra mile, etc. If the FLOPS want a top-notch attitude they should stop paying bargain basement wages. Basic common sense: you don't get a gourmet meal from a fast food restaurant.

Absolutely, any favors/help given to management is taking money away from the pilots and their families. Money they could have sooner to get out of debt and begin living the stress-free lifestyle that other professionals take for granted. Penny-wise pound-foolish thinking is wrong; whether it comes from an inept CEO like MS...or pilots willing to prop him up and enable him to drag out the labor strife that hurts everyone in the long run.

I called it quits in Oct 07 and I completely identify with Silver Surfer's referenced post. I miss the comradery amongst the pilot group and taking that to fight management. On the flip side, the every day battle with Kool Aid drinking FAR ignorant PSM's and schedulers just wore on me so when the right opportunity presented itself, I jumped ship. It's amazing how much FLOPS distorted my reality perception of aviation. There have been FLOPS pilots that have gotten out of aviation all together because of FLOPS. I was fortunate enough to be presented the opportunity at the right time to see that aviation is not necessarily about inept management and going to work pissed off.

Yes voice I am sorry.Perhaps we should focus our attentions on pilots verses management and convince all those moorons to stop doing OT. I am tired of wading through the bs on this site trying to figure out who is winning the war, us or them. If your crystal ball is working,,,, well then grasshopper please enlighten us. peace

Okay, I will enlighten you...
If you need this board to gain info more than mildly entertaining, you're in the wrong place.
Perhaps you should send an email to the board owner and request that there be only one thread that suits your broken record taste.

Yeah its sad and true that there are guys still working overtime. They all have their excuses why they do it. I guess they don't understand that they are delaying the contract for a few extra bucks today. They are really taking money from their own pocket. Kind of ironic, don't ya think?

HS

No, it is not ironic.
Twisted and f*****d, but not ironic.

So you guys would be happy with an essentially modified NJ CBA?

You re not looking for someone to reinvent the wheel.

We are not going to get everything that NJ pilots got in our first contract. I hope we are very close in pay, benefits, and work rules but some of the extra benies you guys get we may not. just the facts of life at Floptions.
