Thanks for the quick and very detailed responses. Those are just what I was looking for.

Seems like both American and Delta would be able to recall all the current furloughees based on current levels of staffing by 2010, although Delta has already announced the recall. Not that this is any consolation-but these numbers indicate worst case (well close to worst case) scenarios. The actual recall could be faster based on un-forecast retirements and increasing traffic. Lets hope!

Does anyone have the numbers at the other carriers?

These numbers were current as of July 2002. Obviously, the 2002/2003 numbers are already gone, and perhaps some early-outs for the people scheduled to retire in 2004+
