So where do you draw the line? At some point everyone in front of you will be gone and you'll have to make that decision yourself. Will you be ready to step away at 50, 55, 60, 62.5? Or will you say, way back then some greedy bastards robbed me of five years, so I have to stay?

Well, some greedy bastards did rob me (in fact, they're robbing me still), but I will not (not might not) take it out on those behind me. If I end up living in a studio, so be it. At least I'll sleep at night.

What I'm hearing is the problem is not the age of the pilot, but the vast conspiracy of those charged with evaluating them. Why not deal with that problem?

Wave will not answer this (well, knowing how much he likes to argue dead-end arguements, he likely will).

Could be both.

Hey man, I called you and yip out for not answering, I'll answer any question you have-

And yes, I've already answered this particular one^^^-

It's answered by a half century of data that proves pilots are more than capable of being captain until they are 60-
I do not want increased scrutiny by an enormous federal beauracracy probing into the still emerging science of cognitive abilities just so you won't have to retire in the same amount of time as all your predecessors did.

How is that not an answer.

What about retirement before 1958:p

You are funny, are you a politician? Talk about a sound bite They have only been collecting data on over 60 121 Capt's, for less than five years, and guess what they have found, there is almost no data.:)

Yep, and old chief pilots and a corrupt AME system keeps there from being any data-
But the young guys are having to watch and correct te old guys on long days- and that's a role and compensation reversal that's inherently unfair.

Wave...

Hike up your skirt and find another thread to post on......

Your hard on because Delta wouldn't hire you shines because of all of your posts I ignore!

I was PMd about your coward statement towards me....sad and pathetic is what comes to mind when I reread it....too bad I could care less what your 20 Year FO a$$ has to say

Oh being DALPA, I'm sure it's not just me you don't care about billy.

But this is a confusing thread to express that on- Par for the course I guess.

But, it still stands- I don't use the ignore function - I use my god given ability to control myself and actually ignore if I need. Cowards w/ no self control need artificial methods.

JMO of course

It's ironically funny that you sound like an old timer who clings to the way things have always been done. Of course that's because it suits your alterior motive.

Let's embrace the advances in the past 54 years and live in the 21st century which includes the elimination of government-imposed retirement ages. Negotiate one into your contract (or design a retirement that penalizes sticking around). Nothnig's stopping you from doing just that.
