First off, WMS, thanks for the positive post.

Second, here is a link to the Jordan terror plot. CNN reports that it was sulfuric acid, not VX.

And Jarhead, before the invasion, no intelligence agency on the planet doubted that Saddam had WMDs. Not even the Democrats (do I have to bring out my list of quotes?). If we hadn't invaded, we still wouldn't know their status.

As it is, we really still don't know. A year of attempting to negotiate a UN solution gave Saddam plenty of time to hide his goodies. We know he had them, because we know he used them.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Finally, if you want to promote freedom elsewhere, support the North Korea Freedom Coalition.

Another question

If the web source I read about the history of VX is correct, it poses another question. It stated that the only countries known to posess VX are The United States, Russia, and France (I'd have to assume that means that the Brits destroyed what they had, as they invented the stuff), then where would Iraq have gotten the stuff in the first place, assuming they had some.

There have been statements over the years that it was in fact the United States that gave Iraq the stuff back when the U.S. was backing Iraq in its war with Iran. I have no clue as to the veracity of such statements.

If it was not the U.S. that "gave" Iraq these agents, why would France or Russia do so, and if either of them did provide it for cash or political reasons, why would not our CIA be aware of this?
