Does NetJets have a policy that a new hire must resign their sen. number when hired? I think that any new hire would not want to go back to an airline job after working at NJ, but I am just curious.

Thanks!

No, you do not have to resign a seniority # at your airline before taking the job at NJ.

There are those that have gone back to their previous airline when recalled from furlough and there will be some others that will go back when they are at their last chance recall.

That's the risk that NJ takes.

FWIW, when I interviewed in '05, they asked me if I would be willing to resign my seniority number from Independence Air. I told them no, then added that I have a young family to be responsible for. The best way to be responsible with the industry as volatile as it is would be to have as many seniority numbers as possible in my back pocket. Would I go if I was recalled? No. (I actually was recalled, but bypassed it which ended up being a good move, and not a hard decision at all).

They seemed to appreciate the honesty.

I've heard this before

What jurisdiction does Netjets have over any other carrier?

If you don't resign your seniority number there is nothing Netjets can do about it?

I've also heard of the Air Carrier telling guys to "go ahead", we'll take you back when the time comes.

I am military, so, I really don't know, but it just doesn't make sense to me?

Not quite sure of your question, but Yes, NetJets does have a good reputation for letting guys come back. (guy leaves NJs for Airline Job. Guy gets furloughed from Airline Job. NetJets will re-hire this guy....but goes to bottom of seniority list).

Or reverse....guy gets furloughed from airline and hired at NJs. Guy gets re-called at airline and leaves NJs. Guy gets tired of airline BS and returns to NJs.

NJs does have a pilot friendly relationship, as far as this goes.

If you are offered a job here at NJA, you won't care about your seniority number again. I sure didn't.

P.S. Let's face it. If your previous number was worth anything, you wouldn't be looking.
