Leave near family and ANG!
Heres my 2 cents! I agree with most! Leave near your ANG base! Even with FEDEX the training months are hard finacially but life after seems to have a bright future. After almost 15 years of active I made the big decision and now it seems to pay off. Of course I didn't just get activated but I'm making more now (after IOE) than I was making as a 14 year Maj in the AF. Don't get me wrong I work almost every day with the ANG when I'm home but I sleep at home also. Some in my unit are now depolyed after activation but with VHA it would probably even out. Mil Leave at FEDEX is a great benefit unitil second or third year pay kicks in...Again there is more quality at home working at the ANG than at sitting in m crashpad in MEm.
