INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Republic Airways Holdings Inc. said on Monday that it will shift eight regional jets from flying for its Frontier Airlines unit to fly them under contract for Delta Air Lines Inc. instead.
Republic does its own flying under the Frontier name, and also operates feeder carriers for other airlines. It said the eight Embraer E170s would begin flying under the Delta Connection name between May and September. The contract runs for six years. Their addition will mean Republic is flying 48 planes for Delta.

Way to take the flying back, Delta. Thanks.

Everyone's so excited that the 50 seaters are going away.
Yay!!!!! We're replacing them all with 170s!!!! Great news!

Amazing!

I sure was expecting Delta to never enter into another agreement with these tools after the parent company went into direct competition....

Does Delta had something in their contract stating that no contract carrier can fly aircraft with seats greater than 100 (and not planes flying under Delta colors)? I thought this was one of the reasons why ACA lost their contract when Independence started flying the Airbus.

different certificate, gets around that part of the scope clause.

Maybe Delta is just trying to lower their liability by giving away mainline flying to an airline that has a better chance of not landing on ATL taxiways.
