Offered EMB170 class date for RPA very soon and also a possible class date very soon for NJA. What avenue would you go down?? Your thoughts please...

NJA....without a second thought...postpone the 170 class date and wait to see what happen with NJA...but I wouldn't totally scrap the 170 idea

Netjets. With per-diem and overtime pay you have a chance a 50K first yr at NJ. The kicker is do you live in one of the new pilot bases? That is what is keeping me from NJ. Not going to move. Good luck. -Bean

I would also agree, this is probably your best bet.

You will have at least double the pay at NetJets your first year (with benefits and perdiem) and could potentially be at your career long job now rather than later. I left a 145 captain position (making a lot more than I do now) for NetJets once the new contract was announced and I hope to finish my career here. I already miss the jumpseat and having to choose from the 5 domiciles (I think only 3 are choices now) kinda sucked, but fairly quickly I'll blow past my old salary, the benefits are infinitely better, and I instantly have more days off on the worst schedule that NJ has than I ever did as a regional captain in 1 1/2 years. I think it's still possible to have a good career in the airlines if you start now, but it will take a lot of luck to have it since you will have to dodge furloughs, bankrupcies, and make the right airline choices the whole time. NetJets might very well screw things up and fail, but I like the odds I'm getting on a long career here over trying to make it happen at the airlines. Good luck whatever you choose.

I agree with JTF. I left a 145 captain position as well at a regional and have been treated much better, paid more, and been home more then the regional I was at.. Between overtime, perdiem, and holiday pay I will make as much, if not more, then my captain pay. Throw in free benefits and an amazing 401k and there is no comparison.

Do you want the "prestige" of being a "regional Pilot" or do you want to fly for a career?

I think if you are ready for a move to make it a final stop and retire from it go to NJ.

If you want to fly for a "Major" some day I thik you could go there from either job.

So I day NJ.

My 2 cents

Is it even a consideration? NJ Duh

Hmmm new planes, the best hotels, money, per diem, overtime. hmmmmm
