Can I get some numbers on hiring plans for '06, estimated reserve time, upgrade time, junior/senior bases for the 170, airlinepilotcentral.com says all hiring into 170 right now - is this true?, QOL, pilot group, etc...... Thanks fellas.

I can answer a few of your questions. The most junior 170 base is CMH and the most senior is IND (for some reason). I would imagine all the hiring will be into the 170 because a few months ago they were asking for voluntary furloughs from the 145. Plus, I would imagine a few 145s would be going back next year.

As far as QOL, that’s a tough call. Reserve right now seems to be indefinite since all the SAAB pilots are still not in training. There are still 17 of them that are yet to be put in a class for any certificate. Since all of them are senior to the new hires, there has not been any movement. Upgrade time is another good question. That will depend on future expansion. There are MANY rumors about this, but nothing is in writing.

Bear in mind that PIT will be a republic 170 base.

Slap was refering to Shuttle America 170 bases.

QOL is all relative of course, btu not so bad here, even on reserve.

They are running a E145 class at the end of the month. 12 FO's.
and 12 Capts.

Don't ask, Who knows.

I haven't heard that a new hire 145 class is going to start soon. There is a 145 upgrade class starting this week of 10, we run upgrade classes with CA-CA pairings which means no FO's.
