Skull dont get me wrong I kind of like your post, just people at CHQ had fonder memories of you than you think.. people 300 and below were awsome what happened when the union went awry and Stu leaving us well it became all business. Hows that kid of yours..
It definitely went to hell and a handbasket when we went from 435 pilots to 650+ overnight. Let us not forget the terminated SAAB pilots (OUT OF SENIORITY no less). What a bunch of bullsh*t. "God Bless" our fearless leader said. What a jerk.
The people from 300 up were pretty cool when I got there but a LOT of them left and even fewer dared to stand up to injustice when they saw it. Everyone ragged on Bruce Perkins but that man stood up for me to the Company. So did four other pilots and three F/As. That's it.
I was always perplexed by how hated I was over there. I took a LOT of arrows on behalf of the pilots. I also did my best to stir up debate, to make people think. The only thanks I got for my efforts was having my good name dragged through the mud.
It's okay. Someday those guys who tried to sell me out will need a favor...
In the meantime... The boy is great. First grade. Smart as all heck. In Cub Scouts, flies dogfight sims like they're going out of style. Also have a three year old daughter who couldn't be cuter. I just hope she doesn't run into someone like me when she gets older. YIKES!
Wife: "Honey, Charlie's late getting home again."
Me: "She is? Where's my handgun?"
My wife is hot as hell and I can't complain there. Worked through our issues. All in all life is good. If I were still at CHQ I'd probably be divorced and in a mental institution. That place was like a fungus on me. ICK.
I work for a guy who puts *ZERO* pressure on his pilots. ZERO. It is a breath of fresh air.
