Hey,

I'm thinking about heading to the Reno Air Races in September. I've never been and would like to get some information from people who have attended.

Available tickets are: grandstand, general admission, and pit access. The pit access sounds really fun, but which have you found to be the best over all?

When you attended did you stay for the full four days? My group is also considering taking off and checking out the area, including Lake Tahoe, etc...

Can you recommend a place to stay, one with shuttle service to Reno Stead Field?

Thanks....

I have been to the air races for the past 15 years. I would just go with the general admission seating. If you have the money buy a pit pass each day or just for sunday. With the big races on sunday you will see the most action during that day in the pits. Any major casino downtown will have have shuttle service to and from the air races. If you visit the lake head to south shore for the most action about an hours drive from reno. It is a fun time but casinos can fill up so for the best rates book early.

If your flying in concider landing at truckee and renting a car. Reno Int packed on sunday evening and monday moring. Get a pit pass for at least one day, it's really cool.

Have fun,

Scott

Bah, and this just has to be on the same weekend as the Moffett air show.

The others are right about the hotels. Try to find one soon. It's a busy week in Reno. You might try hotels in Carson City, Lake Tahoe, or even Truckee. I'm kinda' lucky, my parents have a new mobile home about 50 minutes from the races.
