So I was thinking, wouldn't it be better if the prop lever was on the left side and throttle on the right side (of the assembly), for aircraft like CubCrafters Carbon Cub FX-3's?

What possible advantage do you see in adopting such a non-standard control arrangement?

How many types with controllable propellers have you flown? If more than one, how many had the arrangement you are proposing?

The FX-3 control arrangement is not only standard but it allows easy adjustment of throttle and prop simultaneously.

The ability of using something other than a ball. Option of having something with a button such as for a mic or smoke etc.

Either could be done without swapping the control positions.

Just thinking of different ways it could be handled. Probably doesn't make much different left vs right. In my A-10 life we had quite a bit of functionality on the throttles which is nice, managed two radios, and other functionality. The prop control could probably be electronically (servo) driven controlled by a slider, like a trim button, on the side of the throttle. Or thumb wheel.

Just innovating in my head :)
