If you live in St. Louis, that would probably make your QOL and "prison sentence" slightly better. The Co is in desperate need for FO's, because once again, the high attrition rate. There is a 1 year contract for new hires, but many before you have decided it was well worth it to break their contract early and look for greener pastures. If many of the other regionals are hiring the way I believe they are, then I would definately reconsider sending my resume here. There is a fax # is on the Co cheesy web site if you choose to do so. If you come here, you will not be on reserve long (probably no more than 3 months). Typical hard lines are 4 days long and are pretty much commutable. Upgrade time is currently down to 1 year, which means your parole date will come that much sooner if that is a good thing. Good place to get quick 121 PIC if you can swallow the pay rates...17-19/hr for FO's and 28/hr for CA on the J-32. I implore you young jedi to do your research and seriously consider your other options. Good Luck.

"When God created hell, he made St. Louis" - I live in St. Louis. What makes you such an expert on STL? Let me guess, daddy sent you to Parks. Or maybe it's that you're just not refined enough to appreciate it.

No Princess Buttercup, I did the 61 thing in North Georgia, got a degree with an actual backup, not in aeronautical science but engineering, and had to live in Saint Loser for a year while being employed with TSA. The women are oh so HOMELY/chuncky, the night life sucks, unless you like to hang out at the casino with 70 year olds, and everyone that I met from STL was pissed off that they were there and wanted to leave. What can I say besides that??? I dunno, oh wait, one time at the hotel, I saw a Southwest flight attendant shove a........... oh no, I didn't, I just saw them in the bar and said "Let's drink and pretend we're not here." they said yes, she and she (they, for all the English majors at this website) were hot, and I didn't get laid.
Oh well.............

Are there any Region Air pilots out there with the time to answer a few questions?

What is the QOL for someone living in Saint Louis. I understand that there are long work days. Are you home every night? Will there be any Saabs in Saint Louis? What are the upgrade times? Is it possible to work for Regions Air and hold a second part time job?
Thanks ahead of time!

QOL? Eh, I dunno, I don't live in St. Louis.. I guess it depends on how often you answer your phone.. Saabs are supposed to go to Cleveland.. Upgrade ~a year.. Work at regions and second part time job? Have to be a pretty forgiving part time job... Reserve @ Regions is 5 on 2 off..

Regions is probably the leaders in the "get your time and get out" category.. They even tell you this in ground school.. No one expects anyone to stick around after they get their time.. I think part of this is why the QOL is like it is.. They know why your there.. so they're gonna make it "worth your time.." :)

Voted in IBT747 back when I was still there in 04.
Corpex has a kick a$$ pilot group. The problem with this place it that the company is working on minimal cash flow. This company can shut the doors in a days notice. I hope good things for them, but I don't know.

Thanks for the info Prince Akeem! Now how do I get hired again?

I think the point is that you should be careful what you're wishing for... you just might get it.

Will the government let Regions Air shut down since most of their routes are subsidized under EAS contracts?

On June 15, 2005, the Department of Transportation (DOT) reselected RegionsAir, Inc. d/b/a AmericanConnection to provide subsidized essential air service (EAS) at the following communities for a new two-year period from June 1, 2005 through May 31, 2007:
Burlington, Iowa
Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri
Jackson, Tennessee
Marion/Herrin, Illinois
Owensboro, Kentucky
Kirksville, Missouri
In addition, on January 21, 2005, RegionsAir, Inc. was reselected by the DOT for another two-year term beginning August 1, 2005, for EAS at Quincy, Illinois.
A total of 5 air carriers were interested in the EAS markets, and the DOT made their decision based on four factors: (a) scheduled service reliability; (b) contractual and marketing arrangements with a large carrier to ensure service beyond the hub; (c) interline arrangements the applicant has made with a large carrier at the hub; and (d) community views.
RegionsAir, formerly known as Corporate Airlines, has been serving most of these communities for over 5 years, and with the contract renewals we look forward to a strong relationship with these communities for years to come.
