I want to know if there are any airlines with a base in Pittsburgh. Rumors are that Shaupublic (Shuttle America, Chautauqua, or Republic....whatever they are) is going to have a 170 base there, but are there anymore?

PSA used to have one there but I think that's long gone....I don't think there are any airlines anymore with a PIT base. I was in PIT for the first time since my Allegheny days several months ago - it was like one of those old west ghost towns with the tunmbleweeds blowing across the street - traffic there is a fraction of what it used to be 'back in the day'

There's rumors flying around that Air Wisconsin may get PIT as a base but no one really knows.

I actually started a thread yesterday with this same question. Since then I have learned that there is a company called MidAtlantic (made up of furloughed US Airways mainline pilots) that flies 15 or so E-170 out of PIT with a crew domicile there. Republic has now bought those airplanes and I guess as stated above - will be used in March of 2006. I would like to know if this will be operated by republic, Chq, Shuttle America or what?

Who knows the best way to apply for a job with Republic. I notice that right now the website takes you to CHQ when you apply to a flight position. Thanks.

Do a search on the website and you will find out more information about this twisted transaction than you could possibly imagine.

That is the correct site for all 3 companies.

All of the hiring is done by Chautuaqua. The CHQ training department and Crew Planning will then decide where they need pilots. You may be assigned to either airplane or any 3 compaines.
