I disagree with the article. Lets take tsa'acquisition of compass.
Tsa is having issues with tsa in contract negotiations and will soon come to an end- hulas does t know what the new scope will entail and his ual contract is coming due in a few years while gojets in 2015 ish. So in 4-5 years his original ual flying for both tsa and gojet will be uncertain. So, he bought compass and got a 10 year agreement with a low pilot pay rate group- so his profit is ni e and safe there.

The mystery is what will the new ual scope look like?
90 seaters for whom?
Will ual renew with tsa/ gojet
Will ualmallow 70'seaters to expire
Will ual cap 70 seaters?

So thats where he is

Chumps just need to quit flying planes for poverty wages. That's all.

nearly Everyone has flown at poverty wages at one time or another. It's a necessary evil if one wants to move up. Heck, CAL has mid level regional pay year one. Problem is, the top 1/2 doesn't care as it doesn't affect them. That will never change no matter the amount of "unity.". Heck, the more senior, the less one typically cares about reserve rules, being furloughed, scope issues, outsourcing, entry level pay, etc, etc.
