Our mec confirmed that 9e is taking the neccessary steps to obtain a second certificate either new or purchased and would like to have it up and running by 06. Our CEO Phil is deadset that the future of this airline is outside of NW. Now will they bid on United? probably not. because it would take a while to get that up and running

I bet they are just like Mesa "obtained" a certificate to start freedumb and Mesaba "purchased" the Bigsky certificate both just in time to start shuffling planes off of the main certificate in the heat of an up comming battle for a new contract. So a new certificate sounds just about right.

Your next 9E. The NWA union smashing team is gearing up to beat you down and make you sign for less than you ever dreamed, your all thinking Comair + and you can bet the powers that be are thinking concesions.

Not trying to sound to negitive but things are going to get rough over there. Your new contract is not going to come easy.

Thank you

Thanks for stating the obvious. Does that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
I bet you can't wait!

Your buddy Flagshipper makes a new certificate sound like a good thing? Like 9E is ready to pounce on the soon to be anouced rebid for the Air Wisconson flying.

I was pointing out that a ceritficate is not a good thing.

That is great if it is obvious to you that it would only come back and cause you to sell your soul durring negoations for scope language.

Being a regional pilot I really hope you Flagship folks can raise the bar and obtain something ground braking. It will help us all.

100% jet fleet, 3 hubs you have as good of chance as anyone If you stand your ground.

Christ, the FAA is handing out 121 certificates like candy on Halloween these days! Ridiculous.

Me and 10 buddies sent UAL a bid for some short hual stuff. 50 dollars a segment with a fleet of 11 piper seminoles, one extra for a spare. Excited and waiting to hear back!!!!!!!!!!

Actually my original post was a totally objective approach but as far as my feelings I think us getting a second certificate is a horrible thing because I may be new but I know what goes on in the industry and I understand how Phil will use it against us. Phil just released what he calls our "Flight Plan for the Future" It is a long thing where he rambles on about how the industry has changed but of the 6 new steps 4 of them are:

1.cut cost per block hour by 10% over the next year

2.create a second line of business for 70 to 90 seat aircraft by 2006

3. Fight for scope relief from NWA

4.Complete negotiaions for new pilot contract.

I agree with most pilots in this company. It is not a matter of if we strike it is only a matter of when. Phil admits that until this contract is complete we will probably receive very little growth outside of what we currently have. so quick contracts will work good for both parties but i bet he wants all of that 10 percent to come from us. It is going to get real ugly real quick. I really enjoy the job but I will stand by my MEC during talks because we need a good industry average contract. I think most of us feel Comair plus 10 aint gonna happen but who knows what can be accomplished.

Dude I did the same thing but I sent my pack in for $45 /segment with the Duchess, and we would throw bags as well saving some mondo cash. I hope I undercut you.

I am sorry but I can't help myself. Flagshipper, I think you are new so I will go easy. Have you ever heard of company kool-aid. It is very strong during negotiations. Here is how it goes. They will say they are going to expand. Then a little while later they will say if they can get a reeeeeaaaaal good pay scale out of their pilots they will take over the world. Fact- JUST LIKE MESABA - PINNACLE WILL NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER, FLY FOR ANYONE OTHER THAN NWA. By the way, they have all the gold and tell you where you will eat, sleep and sh1t. Like it or not. It is nothing more than company BS. Welcome to your first contract.

Hey dumb@ss have you read my post at all? Pilot pay has little factor on our operating cost. I can crunch the numbers. Phil's bonus is a bigger deal than our pay going up 40 percent. F%^7 expansion. I want a good contract with good work rules. Our company only exists on paper. Everything we have is owned by big daddy NW and I don't think we are finacially strong enough to step out from under their umbrella. I dont drink the kool-aid. I piss in it and put back in the break room water cooler. So all you guys with all your wisdom for the dumb nieve FO can keep it.

PCL executives have already said that the United bid is a dead deal. They are not even putting a bid together. I can't blame them as getting involved with a severely dysfunctional bankrupt carrier under a short term deal is a very high risk proposition.

The second certificate at PCL is being developed in house. They have no interest in acquiring the problems of another carrier, they have enough of their own. They have actually been working on it for more than a year now and there is a dedicated staff that do nothing else than work on this new certificate. Capabilty of flying under this certificate is not far off.

Piss off and die....you don't give a F**K about us. Raise the bar like you did....bite me. Ground braking like your industry leading Saab rates, Ok, Bite me again...

You need jumpseat..no problem. Other than that...you made this enemy. You are a BUNCH OF a**HOLES THAT ARE WAY TO PROUD TO BE regional pilots.

Easy, Francis. . .

.

We need to all support each other during this trying time. Will we get Comair +? I doubt it but at the same time I believe we should get a contract that is world's better than what we have now. I've made a lot of friends at XJ throughout my years at 9E and not one of them have said they supported the contract that passed. Basically it sounds like their MEC (T.W.) sold them up the river. Don't hate on eachother. We're just the labor group struggling to make things work from day to day.

Great way for W.'s Regime to break the unions, ain't it?

Yeah, because pilots being greedy bastards is all GWB's fault

Yeah, not wanting to live on food stamps as an FO sure is being greedy. Further, it's proven that W. doesn't care about labor, and wants unions broken, pay lowered and corporate profits to rise. The next four years are not the time for pilots to negotiate. And what's to say that the order hasn't come down to the FAA to hand out the certificates, knowing full well, that they will be used like Freedom to hurt another groups collectiver bargaining abilities?

raising the BS flag on that one

My God man, get over yourself!

The FAA hasn't handed out jack yet. Republic still does not have their certificate, and I'd imagine GoJet or whatever TSA2 is called will have the same problems. Mid-Atlantic doesn't "really" exist, it is operated under the Airways certificate.

Your chicken little the-sky-is-falling conspiracy theories on Bush plotting the end of the pilot profession through collusion with the FAA is too crazy to even be humorous. What really needs to happen (and this may be unpopular) is US and U need to quit being protected from failure. Their wallowing in Ch. 11 allows them to use desperate measures that hurt everybody in this profession, from the passengers to employees and management. Management needs to be held accountable for their failures, but to think that Bush either directly or indirectly is enjoying the struggles of airline labor in this environment is asinine. Remember, Clinton didn't let AA strike.

Your guy lost in November - get over it.

First of all, I'm not over it and never will be. Second, it was meant to be a joke....sort of. This is not a labor friendly administration. Do I think truly think there is a conspiracy of the nature I suggested above? NO, I don't. But it was fun to say and piss off you Bushies.

Next, I agree with you. USAir (especially), United, and eventually, (I think) Independence should be left to their own demise. I'm tired of my tax dollars, and those of the profitable airline for which I work going to support the competition, while the competition doesn't have to pay their bills and compete fairly.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It is a good thing for the rest of the pilots at 9E that they are not as childish as you. Good luck in your new career, your going to need it.

Excuse me... uhmm...Mr. Chuck F'n Yeager... ATC called and they asked you to move your ego off the taxiway so the rest of us pee-ons can go about our lowly business of flying our tiny puddle jumpers. Thank you in advance.
