enough all ready

Anyone that says they know a strike will happen and how the strike will turn out is fibbing. You will not know how management or the owners will react until the strike happens.

All I know is that if I were a Citation X share owner at NJA and a ratty Lear 55 or a Hawker 700/800 or a Citation III picked me up, I wouldn't be so happy.

Have you ever seen the inside of some of those NetJets airplanes? Some of them look like they're 20 years old, and its a relatively new fleet. They have some "ratty" lookin airplanes themselves, interiors that is. They do keep the outside in fairly good shape though.

NutJets just might be dumb enough to try and weather the storm so, frankly, let them do it.

There are simply not enough charter outfits to cover a 300-400-500 revenue leg day that will be Wyvern approved. Between NJI, EJM and charter they maybe able to cover around 200 flights but that should be about it.
Now take into consideration the amount of owners refusing to fly on an airplane that doesnt have a QS tail number. Lastly, why would a charter outfit drop all their regular customers to help NutJets for a few days or weeks knowing when the strike is finished they will never hear from them again. I understand there are several charter outfits who primarily specialize in NutJets sell offs but for the majority it just doesnt make sense.

Good points, Fracster. Does anybody know what happens from an Owner perspective if all my flights start to occur on non-QS tails? I would imagine I would have the right to dump my fraction then and bail out of NJ or Marquis....

FYI: Don't know if this relates to a possible NetJet's pilot strike. But I noticed an ad out in the latest Professional Pilot magazine (April 2005, p.4).

The ad, about 1/4 page size (pretty expensive) is from NetJets looking for pilots. Don't know if there having a difficult time recruiting pilots or preparing themselves just in case there's some sort of action in the future?

Just an observation.

I don't think NJ pilots have a lot to worry about. Netjets has been calling charter operators and asking them how many hours they can reserve for next month. The problem is they are only willing to guarantee two hours of flight time per day. Most charter operators can get more than that just chartering their in-house customers, and aren't willing to give up their steady charter customers for a month of NJ flying.

Can someone elaborate on where the union is with mgt as far as their ability to strike? Has a mediator allowed the union to set a strike vote? If so when is it? I know that the TA was rejected but I have not read anything in the papers about a cooling off period.

Strike Vote can be taken anytime. MEC will call for it when timing is right.

BTW, Anybody going to be in Omaha on April 30th?
