Recalculating child support for first year pay?

You know, I grew up with a single mom. And courts were awful to her. My dad paid next to nothing and it affected everything about us. Especially my oldest brother.
That said, it's another swing of the pendulum, and man has it swung wayy too far.
It sure would be nice to not have the lawyers involved. But that's not reality.
