Glaxo is now Glaxo SmithKline with the HQ in PHL. They have a King Air, a Falcon, and a Gulfstream up there, but nothing at RDU. A couple of weeks ago Progress Energy (CP&L) were looking for a pilot.in RDU The ad was on their website.
SAS Software, is a privately held company owned by NC's two wealthiest residents. They are consistently ranked as one of the best places to work for their employee-friendly policies. They operate a BBJ and a CE750.
Wasn't SAS' owner also the largest shareholder in Midway airlines, er sump'n like dat?
About Corp jobs at RDU ... there are quite a few small company aircraft hangared on the GA ramp and over near Ram Air, everything from Bonanzas to SAS's aforementioned BBJ. Lotsa King Airs and a few Citation 500s when I was last there ... the usual. If you could come down for a few days before the move, you could corral a few local pilots at Southern Jet or Piedmont over on the GA ramp and find out who is still there and who may be looking. When I was flying at Southern Jet's old flight school there were always pilots from out of the area asking around about who was doing what. Even the CFIs at the school beside Southern Jet (don't know what it's called now ... probably 'BoBo's Flite Skool' ) will probably know the local scene since they're always looking for their next move up.
