Southern Air lost a great pilot tonight. Art Zottarelli died in a motorcycle crash. He was one month from his 65th birthday.

Art gave me my first flight off IOE 9 years ago at ATI on a DC-8 and tought me more than anyone I've ever met since in my career. Best pilot I have ever flown with, hands down.....RIP Art.....RIP

Another tough one to see go. The encyclopedia entry for "classic aviator" would open with a picture of Zott. We've lost a great deal with his passing. Godspeed, old friend!

Flew with the "Zott" on the Herk back in the '80's. A good man to hang with. We'll toast him at the reunion in October.
