No joke,
has anyone else here ever thought about rail dispatching? I mean hell, I like trains.....it would be similar type of work, right? Has anyone on here ever looked in to it or started pursuing it? If anyone has any knowledge about it, I'd love to hear from ya.

I'm working for a short line in iowa now (former MG DX),not a bad gig, part traffic control part DX. Your dispatch background would serve you well, it has me.

I do know a couple of former ADXr's who work at a class 1 (big railroad) if you'd like to know what it's like there PM me and I'll see if I can put you in contact with them.

The shortline where I work started me quite a bit higher in pay than any of the regionals offered me. The class 1's pay quite a bit better. but theydxr's there start on the extra board (like pilot reserve but no guaranteed days off).

Check www.rrb.gov/pands/jobs/rrjobs.asp That's how I found this job
