This is the motto of every bid RAH wins.
Well, except for the Continental bid where they were more expensive than some other bidders, and yet still won.

Mountain flying is a learned art and we are gaining that knowledge daily.
Pretending you have some semblance to a big airline is living in denial and you'll always get dissappointed when reality slaps you up the side of your head.
ERJFO,
RAH has pilots with plenty of experience west of the Mississipi! Newsflash: Whilst Horizon has an extremely experienced and capable group of mountain flyers, so has SkyWest, so has ASA, XJT not so much. We know our limitations and I have yet to fly with a capt that pushes the envelope. Our new capts (145fo to 170ca) are a cautious bunch and not likely to say "watch this". Mountain flying is a learned art and we are gaining that knowledge daily.
You should spend your time reading up on 135 regs(for your new adventure), instead of playing "sore loser" on FI.
Actually kids my line about mountain flying was to point out that I don't feel the company supports us properly; my bros and sisters flying at s5 unfortunately have had to learn it mostly on their own. And for the record we do have guys doing Mexico in night IMC (or did, not sure if shuttle still has Mazatlan or not).
For you holier-than-thou types: which ERJ operator came within 300 feet of a hilltop in Mexico City and then wrote up the GPWS for erroneous warnings?
These guys preaching their mountain flying prowess (Erjfo), are the same ones that use the "I fly jets" pickup line. Get over yourselves. RAH crews are just as safe as any other regional. You are no better than the rest of us.

Only one way to settle this. Who hits a mountain first??? Oh... wait... A major already did that in Latin America.....
We can, in fact, all be professionals and do our jobs. SA is the key when it comes to operating in and around mountains. Easy enough. Just have a decent idea of what altitude constitutes "safe reading altitude" and everyone will be fine.
For the record, flying in and out of Denver is mountain flying about like kissing your kid sister is getting some. Try VOR approaches into La Paz at night in WX if you wanna get a taste for mountains crawling up your butt. Flying freight was nothing if not interesting. Even still, we managed not to hit anything... not that hard, just requires a bit of preparation.
Nonetheless, you kids be safe out west. And I mean that in the sincerest way possible.
