Does anyone have any idea what QX is thinking about doing hiring wise with the 16 200's going to CommuteAir? I thought that they are only getting 12 more Q400's. That seems to me that they are losing 4 planes. The website says that they are still hiring. The mins are 100/1000, what are the competative mins? Thanks.

Talked to the chief pilot...

LH said that they have 64 new hires until the end of the year... who knows what they're doing with them.

I haven't seen jack on the training plan or anywhere else that comes close to anything about hiring 64 people by the end of the year.

They better get on it.....

As with most things, I'll believe it when I see the planes on the ramp. Or in this case, gone from the ramp.

supposedly the 400's are arriving 2 a month starting december but the 200's are disappearing 1 a month starting in the winter. Not sure what effect this will have, hopefully it will force them to take more 400 options. You have to watch out though during contract negotiations, who knows what kind of games management will play.

Thanks. Does anyone have the competative mins? 1250/ 185 here.

I was hired about 4 weeks ago and had 1550/420. From what I understand competative mins are around 1500/300. They are also very big on Part 135 time, I know several people that have interviewed and were told to come back when they get some 135 experience. Also, the 4 year degree issue is still a big one. But, that's just my experience, I'm sure people are getting hired without all these things. Hope that helps.

Thanks I will be getting my stuff in once I get to 200 multi. I do have a 4 year degree so hopefully that will help. Take care.

It is actually 13 400's as they exercised one option already. As someone already stated, the 13 400's will be on line by next June. The 200's, assuming it goes as planned, leave on per month starting in January.

Pure speculation. I would imagine a couple dozen 400 FO's will jump ship for frontiers new operation.

For a paycut? I think not. Quick upgrade? I wouldn't touch any newly formed operation that can disappear just as fast as it was created. Frontier is no longer satisfied with QX or we would have been awarded the new 400 flying automatically. We "cost too much" and if they want to go back to the lowest bidder crap again (ie: Mesa) then they're welcome to it. You get what you pay for. Bring the 9 RJ's back here ad maybe we can finally have some real expansion. Sucks for the people who just moved out there to DEN though.
