Just out of curiousity do you guys at QX have any sort of flow thru<sp?> to AS?

Nope. Supposedly if you indicated on your AS application that you are a QX employee, it would help move your app higher in the stack. Most of the new hire lists I've seen recently at AS did not appear to be favoring QX applicants. Perhaps that has, or is, changing, I don't know.

I hadn't seen that "breaking news" on onyourhorizon.com. They (AK/QX higher ups) are truly shameless. The friggin airgroup is better at keeping a secret than the CIA. If they had any real plans at all we would hear nothing until it happens.

The only bit of truth from the article I could find would be Pat Zach's comment "we are still quite a ways from making a decision on this". It took them 3 years of "deliberation" to put some 400's in SEA.

What does 'remarket' mean? I know what they say but what does it really mean? Seems to be a mystery to all, Gene included.

You are right! The CIA has nothing on these guys! If the planes were coming the pilots wouldn't know until the damn thing was on the ramp. This is all PR for the upcoming negotiations. They want to get the pilot group all wrapped up about sh!t that ain't going to happen. Keep them distracted from what is really going on.

These dorks better not talk too loud around most of us, they might get jumped in the parking lot.

These guys need to get a clue and leave this place if they want a quick upgrade and low pay. There are plenty of places to go.

I heard that Horizon is looking for these aircraft because the Alaska pilots will probably try to scope us out when their contact is up. The air group wants these aircraft, but they would rather see us fly them than pay mainline pilots. I don't care who flies them, as long and the pay matches the seats. I will vote no on anything that includes a pay cut.

Well....one of the sections that was agreed to prior to the Ca$her arbitration screwing was a section entitled "CRJ-900 or EMB 190". It was agreed that Horizon could get 10 of either kind and then for every 1 after that, Alaska would have to get 1 737. So....I'm not sure what the sentiment is at Alaska concerning the EMB 190? Anyone?

Personally I agree with DoubleDown. I don't care who flies them, as long as the pay matches the seats.

Horizon IS NOT going to get any 90+seat airplanes! They have never moved fast NEVER!

I guess their propaganda is working though. Here we are talking about these airplanes that are not going to happen any time in the near or far future and not focusing on what is important. We need to stay focused and on task when it comes to our current contract negotiations. Do not let them get us exited about things that are not going to happen.

Well, you're probably right, but the consensus on this thread, and my point when starting the thread, was that it probably was a ruse. So, no, I don't think the propaganda is working, at least not among the dozen or so QX pilots on here.

Among the larger QX pilot group, who knows.

About the larger QX group, These little anouncements will throw them into a tisy and this will be the topic of disscussion for months to come. They want to see if they can pull a jets for jobs, see how bad FO's have SJS.

Generally speaking, I am not in favor of the "If you don't like it, quit" mantra, but in this case I have to say "Amen, brother!"

Like Mesa. Just saw they are hiring street captains for the dash 8. It would be a quick upgrade and $10,000 paycut.

The sad truth is I heard a couple of F.O's wanting a growth contract and willing to give up pay for the bigger aircraft. WTF, haven't the other regional taught us anything?

Even sadder is Treichler will sell you guys (and every other union pilot group) straight down the river to do it. It'll be called GO-HORIZON.

You'll probably see a colony on the moon before you see the first 90 seater at QX

I think we'll see 90-seaters on the moon before we see them at QX. :D

You ain't kidding. He showed that the name of the game is collecting union dues, principles be damned. Same corrupt Teamsters as in Hoffa's day. Hoffa Sr that is.

Dunno if you're aware, but our EXCO actually sent the Treichler & the IBT a letter condemning the Teamster's support for the ************************* pilots & willingness to represent that group. Glad that our union leadership realizes what a slippery slope ************************* represents.

As far as SJS-struck FO's, I think QX is thankfully short of them. I have yet to run into a FO that is willing to admit they think concessions-for-growth is a good idea. Most have rather strong opinions about exactly where Art can stick his concessions.... I have a good feeling about these negotiations. I think we have a pretty united pilot group and a good set of negotiators, with lots of experience from our last time. And don't forget, time is on our side with this one.
