For off-line pilots do you need to list as a NonRev to OMC international or do you just show up at the ticket counter and request the OMC? Also how many jumps on a UAL 747-400 to Asia. Thanks in advance for the info

It depends

On 400s to Asia, some are double augmented, meaning that there isn't a jumpseat to OMC on. On the ones that you can OMC on, I believe you need to call operations and list yourself 24 hours in advance so that you will be put on the General Dec.

I don't have my Flight Ops Manual with me to check for sure, but I believe that's the way it's being done (as of today). Who knows about tomorrow.

ORD to Asia has two crews so no jumpseat available (got rejected from a half full 777 in Narita because no jumpseat available due to two crews). The crew told me to try the west coast flights since they were a little shorter and done with 3 pilots so a jumpseat is open (you're still seated in the main cabin), but at least available. I don't know anything about listing for the flights though.

Hmmm odd. I j/sed out of JFK to NRT and they had a double crew on the 777 and I still got on. On of the F/Os even came back to aplogize that I had a biz class seat instead of a first class seat. They were a great bunch of guys on that flight.

It would make sense that they would still have an extra J/S on double crewed airplanes since they need an extra seat for a Fed right? Plus I know of an express jet pilot and a World airways pilot who jumpseated from the west coast to Sydney. I think on those flight they allow one jumpseater.

They prefer you to list as an omc through reservations rather then just show up. They only take one jumpseater on the 74-400's since they only have one jumpseat. Offline jumpseaters don't have to do the cockpit jumpseat procedures when returning to the USA(24 hr notice for verification of credentials). I take it your going to HK? go through SFO!
