This is for KFpilot. The pilot you are talking about was me. offered a choice between resigning and been terminated after failing a proficiency check following diffrences training on the CRJ 700. I told them to go ahead and terminated me. I was not given a chance to do a recheck as required by the contract.
I was represented by the union during the meeting with the manager of flight standards. The union filed a grievance on my behalf and thanked me for having the courage to bring this matter to their attention.
I am not a bad pilot. I made a mistake failed a PC check and I accepted full responsibility for the failure. I was totally truthful about it in my interveiws. Both companies who interveiwed me were very supportive of me. I had very strong refrences from pilots who had flown with in my previous jobs. They felt I had been treated unfairly. You do not fire a pilot who has been flying the line succesfully for failing one check without given him a recheck.
I proofed myself here doing excellently in the training which is much harder than what we did at PSA. I passed my type ride on first attempt which speaks for my ability as a pilot.
Listening to your comments I see why I got fired from PSA. KFPILOT was my sim captain at PSA and must have had a field day bashing my reputation. I was loyal to her much to the disgust of most of my classmates who held her in very low esteem. Felt she was a gulfstream academy grad and did not know what she was doing. If she looks at my past posts she will see that I made a strong defence for Gulfstream grads using her as an example of what they can achieve.
She needs to get her facts right before she starts yapping about stuff. I flew with her once and I was not critical of her lack of knowledge as regards the systems in the airplane when we had a minor malfunction.
PSA had a black recruiter who hired a few qualified minorities most who had in excess of 5000 hrs like myself. After he left PSA to work elsewhere with a lot of encouragement and I believe quite some support from people like KFPILOT here quite a few of those minorities have lost their jobs making them feel a little bit witch hunted. But mostly it has just been more experience pilots expecting miracles from 1000 hr pilots and just complaining too much about normal short comings. I was one of the best first officers at PSA as far a flying the airplane goes. training was tough, OE was tough but a learned the airplane quickly as is expected of a pilot of my experience. For KFPILOT that is her first PIC position. I already had 1000 hrs turbine PIC before I even got to fly for PSA.
Again my performance speaks for itself. Believe it Karen I am a Captain at NWAIRLINK!!
I am happy about my contributions to PSA Pilots since the event with me no other person has been fired under the same circumstances. The union put a stop to that injustice!
My case is still pending and I am been strongly represented by ALPA. It is a case they are very confident of winning.
KFPILOT is just a basket case and I now understand why most of our mutual classmates at PSA have always wondered why I even stick up for her when they begin bashing how disorganise she looks and presents herself.
I have to learn to call a spade a spade!
Why would they not give you a chance to re-take the PC? Is that part of your contract? Couldn't you have attempted a re-take with a union rep present? Did you consider consulting the union? Oh well, welcome to 9E. Don't expect things to be much fun here, but for the most part we have a decent group of guys here.

Looks like a high overcast.
Better ask for Type IV.

Just re-read your post. If the company failed to give you a re-check per the contract, sounds like you're entitled to file a grievance. You gonna do that or just let it go? Hopefully you pursue the grievance process.

Thanks Rook. I really love been here at 9E. Great group of guys. The instructors try to bring out the best in you. I am happy they gave me a chance inspite of my shortcomings. The pilot group here is just so refreshing to hang out with and it has truely been a blessing from God getting hired here.

The union did file a greviance at PSA on my behalf which is still pending.
Right now I am just going to enjoy my time at this awesome company which like every other company out there while not perfect is a nice place to work.

In other news: PSA is hiring Pinnacle people. Two were in ground school here recently, but are no longer. One left for something clearly better (I forget, JB perhaps) and the other was let go due to a failed drug test.

Funny business!
