What is the number of hours you can drop to? For example at AWA/US we can go to 40 hours and still be considered full time for insurance etc. Thanks in advance.

Not sure there is a minimum, however, you must maintain your currency whether you like it or not!

Thanks. I was recently told that I hadn't recieved a call from Alaska, because I'm overqualified and a flight risk to Southwest or FedEx. Arrrgggghhhh! Bang, Bang, Bang(Sound of head hitting wall). It's not my fault they didn't hire for four years. I figure if I start researching and applying to FedEx now, maybe in five years I can have them say the same thing.

Why would someone leave to go to SWA or FedEx?????

Who told you that? I hate to say it but it sounds like a line to put you off.

Don't mean to be rude, but I know folks who have interviewed at both and I don't think either of those carriers think that way. I could certainly be wrong and I hope I am.

Yes, if the reserve manning is sufficient the computer will let you drop everything you have.

I was joking about Southwest and FedEx. As for Alaska, a friend of a friend just got hired at Alaska: 800 PIC, no check airman, no jet time. Evidently they've lost a lot to FedEx and Southwest. I'm not giving up though, I realize the people sorting the resumes come and go.
