Hey guys/gals,

I've heard a lot about the P180 as far as performance goes, but how is the reliability of the airplane? I've heard second-hand stories about flap problems, but that is about it. I haven't really heard anything first-hand so I was hoping you could help me out. I'm working with someone to select and purchase a turboprop and I was hoping to get some input from the people who fly them.

Thanks,

Hey,

I think the reliability is pretty good overall. I've never had (or heard of) any flap problems.....some more common ones involve main wing anti-ice (sometimes a temp sensor fails), occasionally the autofeather has a problem. The thing is that Avantair flies airline-style hours and cycles on the Avanti - and it's not transport category certified. If the airplane is flown under normal corporate conditions with reasonable hours, then I imagine the reliability would be even better. I really don't have many complaints overall. Good luck finding the right plane!
