It's my understanding that SWA is giving preferential interviews to retired SWA pilots. And that if they are successfully rehired then they start at the bottom of the seniority list. But what happens to their longevity? On day one back with the company, will these "new hires/rehires" be paid at the top of the FO longevity scale ?

Just curious, Thanks.

I'm sure each one is diffrent on how they are doing their retirement elections. I have no idea, except that they are getting a new hire paycheck.

It's my understanding that SWA is giving preferential interviews to retired SWA pilots. --->The key word here is "gave" preferential interviews. It was a one time shot....apps had to be in by Friday February 8...interviews were completed by the end of Feb.
Letters ( positive and negative) from current pilots who had flown with those pilots were encouraged and were weighed heavily at the decision board.
And that if they are successfully rehired then they start at the bottom of the seniority list.--->Yes But what happens to their longevity?-->They will have none. They will be New Hires On day one back with the company, will these "new hires/rehires" be paid at the top of the FO longevity scale ?--->No
