OK FCN I hear ya but I still disagree. Go read his post on PPRune (which was quickly corrected). He posted more misinformation AND lead people to study the wrong material which would have failed any candidate, luckily the information was corrected.
Of course sometimes I post information that is incorrect, because things change:
I was told by a EK recruiter/pilot in April that the weight limit was lowered to 10 tonnes...just the other days someone posted that there was some type of limit of 30 tonnes...something changed since I had the info I was given.
I was told by people who worked for National that the 757 pilots would be based overseas and not commuting...U said the info was wrong...it may be now.
Sometimes I post what I read on other boards, because not everyone is on all the boards...some people don't even know about boards like pprune...when I do so I state "from another post", or "I read on another board"...if I think the info is WRONG, I won't post it.
I don't post stuff that is wrong on purpose.
It sounds like you know a LOT about hiring and what is going on, and I encourage you to share that information with all of us...we can always use more information.
I too have a friend at Qatar airways and I will not post here what he has said.
I don't know anyone at Qatar, just me some of their pilots on the road and talked to them about working at Qatar. Overall, the guys I have talked to about Qatar were positive on the company.
PEOPLE OFTEN HANG THEMSELVES MORE THAN NOT! Funny Cathay Pacific, from what I have heard, hired a bunch of RJ guys too, they fly 747's and 777's.
Sometimes my freinds tell me stuff, and then say not to post it...I don't.
If they tell me something, with no restrictions on their part, I may post it, but I just say "a freind", "a guy I know"...no identifying information
Could it be possible that ATPCLiff just doesnt have the skills to get hired?
DEFINITELY POSSIBLE.
I have been turned down after an interview by 7 aviation organizations.
I have been hired by 3 aviation organizations, after an interview.
I have been offered 4 other flying jobs, for which I did not interview.
I have also been offered a job by 2 aviation organizations, after interviewing with them and having been turned down...they changed their minds.
So, in total, I have been turned down 7 times, and offered a postion 9 times, so I'm batting about .500. I know of some who are at 1.000. They interviewed for a USAF pilot slot, got it, then interviewed at DAL (or AA/UAL/FedEx, etc.) and got it, so they are 2 for 2. Better than me!
He spends a lot of time on all the boards. I counted 4 boards so far.
I'm on a lot more than 4 boards. Other than responding to this post, the past few days, I have not been on very much, as I am studying.
If he is flying so much, where does he find time to post?
It depends....May I flew 71 hours, the 2nd highest month ever for me...one of my problems! Last month only about 30 hours...only flown once the last 4 days...here in Togo no family, and not a lot to do, so I spend a lot of time on the internet.
If he is in Africa were is he getting the info?
Mostly from people I know...
What happened at USAJet?
They furloughed 75% of the DC-9 pilots, after shutting down the Falcons, furloughing ALL of those guys, and then furloughing some of the DC-9 guys earlier.
Allegaint would be perfect for him and he could be home and have jumpseat and maybe even on his way to 757 school now.
Yes, it would be nice. My resume has been in for over a year, and a former USAJ guy, who is now a Capt there, has been trying to help me.
GREAT LAKES WOULD NOT EVEN HIRE HIM! Come on now.
I was called, out of the blue, more than once, to start class as a Street Captain for them. Since I had not flown in 10 years, had never flown a turboprop, never flown -121, and never been a fixed-wing Captain, I did not think it made any sense. I pointed this out to the Lakes recruiter, but he didn't care...he kept calling, but I didn't go to class there....maybe a bad decision for my career?...who knows, but it didn't make sense to me at the time.
Sorry, I am just calling BS on this.
As far as me, I know ten times what he knows, I just do not pretend to be an expert and mislead people.
I don't pretend to be an expert. There are TONS of guys, like yourself, who know a lot more than me. Some of them NEVER post on any message board, they just read the information. I think that is not very helpful, because if we all did this, there would be no information on these boards to read.
I do not try and mislead people. If someone corrects my "wrong" information, I say thanks, and move on.
Plus airlines can find out who you are and don't like their info being posted. I think most airlines know who he is and are just staying away.
I have had my employers tell me stuff that is not to be released to the public. I never post anything that I am not supposed to, either by request of my company, or by request of a friend. I have been to an interview where they asked us not to post anything, or tell our friends what went on. I listened to them and did not release any information...
I am not the only who thinks this just the only one saying so.
