Hi everyone !

a) Do airlines/corporates frown on computerized logbooks ?

b) Any favorite computerized logbook software out there?

b) Does anyone know where I can have someone put all my info from my old manual logbook into a computerized one for me?

Thanks very much,

BLUE SKIES !! :)

For $10 an hour and the price of the software and mailing of your logbook, I'll do it for ya :)

Thanks Vnugget

I'll get back to you on that !! For sure ...

my e-mail is [email protected]

I just did this three weeks ago. It took approximately 20 hours to enter four logbooks-worth of information into Logbook Pro. Two of the logbooks were the small Jeppesen version, and the other two were the "professional" logbook.

I was typing really fast, too. Talk about boring work!

Was it worth it though? And to the original poster's point, is it accepted face value like the paper logbook by employers?

It was worth it because I discovered some math errors, and some errors in how I logged cross country time years ago.

I used the info in the electronic logbook to fill out a flight time grid and it took less than five minutes. I haven't shown the electronic logbook to anyone, so I don't know personally how it is accepted by employers.

I used Logbook Pro.

It took a while, but it was worth it. You eliminate many opportunities for math errors, and you correct the old errors. If you find that you have incorrectly logged time, it is easy to correct.

My last employer never asked to see my logbook. I must have an honest face.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR REPLIES

Thanks everyone, for your kind replies. I'm going to give Logbook Pro a try. I see you can demo it, on-line!

All my best, paul

I use an older piece of software called Avlog Pro. One of the reasons that I picked it was at the time it offered a fewer amount of keystrokes to enter all my time into it.

It also has a great ability to "filter" any sort of goofball time requirements that are found on job applications.

Like everyone has stated computer logbooks are great for catching mathematical errors. You might end up with more time than you think you had! Or less.

I keep both the computer and standard type logbooks.

Have fun!

For what it's worth about being accepted, I have interviewed at 2 airlines (successfully), and had my computerized logbook reviewed by the UK CAA as part of getting credit for my FAA certificates toward a CAA/JAA ATPL.

My electronic logbook was accepted with no problem and no question at all of these interviews and reviews. I recommend you take the time to do it. It definitely was time consuming transferring 13000+ hours into the computerized logbook, but now it looks so much neater, plus I can set any filter imaginable to run a total of my flight times.

Which logbook you use is just a matter of personal preference. I use AeroLog Pro with its Pocket PC companion. It does a good job for me, but I hear good things about Logbook Pro and Flight Level, also. They all give you a certain free trial period to see what you think about them.

I have Logbook Pro and I like it. I originally got it about two years ago and I really liked it then. Is it just me or do others find the new version more difficult to use? I will admit that I am far from great with a computer. The new version seems to have more functionality, but with that comes more complexity.
