Any recommendations for an FBO in Puerto Vallarta? I found ICCS and Aerotron. Are there others? Which is better? any shared experiences will be appreciated.

Been a few years since I’ve been to PV, so this info might be dated. Here’s what I can remember. ICCS does not have an FBO there, they are a handler. They can take care of your paperwork, etc., but don’t have an actual facility.

Aerotron on the other hand was nice (FBO’s per se are rare down south), I’d recommend using them again, if your aircraft can fit on there ramp. Aerotron’s taxi way and ramp area are very small, not a problem if you’re in a Lear or Citation, but I don’t know if I’d take a GV in there. You can pay for all your fees with “normal” credit cards at Aerotron, so you don’t need to bring much cash. They usually have a customs guy at the facility to clear you passengers, but if he’s busy they might have to take a van over to the “real” customs area. I always bring Prist so I really don’t know if they had it available (Prist is hard to find in MX).

Hotel’s etc., I wasn’t that big of a fan of PV, it’s a rather big city. We’ve stayed at the Westin and the one next to it, they’re Ok. If you’re staying more than a few days I’d recommend looking into some of the smaller “villa’s” etc. that you can rent in the Punta Mita area.

For a “beach” resort I was pretty disappointed with the actual beach, seems like it been eroded so much that the actual sand area is very small.

Many Thanks!

You Rock! Just what I needed to know. I'll be staying at an Al inclusive, so maybe I'll be okay.

My GV fit just fine at Aerotron and they did just what they said they were going to do which I found to be both novel and refreshing. The CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort is a world-class place to stay. Personally, I like the Mexican resorts - Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, Aculpoco, Cancun, Cozumel, Cabo San Lucas - far better than any of the island destinations farther East in the Carribean.

Sorry can't help you about the FBO...But I can tell you it's nice and warm and I'm listening to the ocean as I type! Got here about 2:00! Loving vacation!

Anyone else think this poor guy should just shut down the laptop for a few days. I'm headed for Cabo on Sunday and leaving mine on the aircraft.

Seriously, step away from the computer! Go down to the El Faro Lighthouse and have a few drinks while watching the sunset!

I have returned!

I just returned from PV. What a great time. Aerotron was helpful and not too expensive. I stayed at Canto Del Sol. I got a deal for $58.00 (each) a night for my co-pilot and I all inclusive. Played beach volleyball, Tequila water volleyball, road horses, saw a whale and some dolphins... Returned yesterday.

Next week Montego Bay. Life is rough
