Speaking of Mesa crew room, they're opening up a CLT CRJ base in July. (I think it's July, might be later this summer)

I'm assuming this is for the 900s? Or are they going to bring 2s and 7s in and kick us out. Philly round 2?

It's for the 900's.....Mesa had to create bases outside of CLT for the 900's for some time, so they could get all the ERJ drivers out of there w/o having to train them on the CRJ. The crew bases were IAH I think and maybe MEM or DFW. Once they got all the ERJ guys out, they are able to move the CRJ base back into clt. Gotta love that. Get displaced from PHX to IAH or wherever....then have that close and have to move to CLT....gotta love that.

that would rock if we got philly back. I hope that happens.

You are a sick, twisted individual. Please don't ever fly with me.

Back to the original subject... a sample schedule

With nearly 7 years senority -- here is the trip I am on right now.

Yesterday we did seven legs. Longest sit between legs was 40 minutes. Didn't even have time to take a dump. On duty 13 hours.

Reduced rest last night, only 7 hrs 30 minutes at the hotel due to the long van ride to and from the airport. Only two 20 minute legs today. Away from home for the entire day and earning $60 plus per diem. Yippie. Get to spend 18 hours in Fayetteville, NC at our hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Tomorrow is four legs worth 3 hrs 30 mins followed by 15 hours in Lexington, KY. Another hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Day four, the last day, our van leaves the hotel at 4:15 am. We fly seven legs. If I am lucky I'll have time to get out of my seat for five minutes and take a leak. We're supposed to finish at 4:30 pm, but with seven legs during TSM season I doubt we'll finish on time.

That's a pretty typical schedule for PSA. They either work you like an animal or make you sit in an econlodge in the middle of a soybean field.

I have been here a long time (7 years) and the schedules have always been terrible. Management doesn't care to fix things and probably never will. I don't mean to sound bitter. Bad schedules are just a fact of life when you work at a bottom feeder airline. PSA is a training airline and most everyone aims to get out of here at some point.

On behalf of 95% of the AWAC pilots based in PHL, you can have it back, we'll call CLT a fair trade.

They don't put you guys up at the Raddison downtown in LEX?

No, we stay out on Newtown Pike, which is by the highway and a few choice restaurants (i.e. Cracker Barrel, Subway, McDonalds, and Waffle House), not to mention a gas station.

Newtown Pike??? Cheapass bastards make you have a 20 minute van ride to be way out there? There are MUCH better options that are much closer.

Oh, and hi Liz!
;)

For those of you who arent cultured enough to appreciate philly and what it has to offer I hope you all enjoy the opening ceremony of the nascar hall of fame in CLT. . .. YEAH!!!!!! How's that sweet tea and grits working out for ya'll?

I'll take the Southern Belles and Cheerwine any day over the Philly Cheesesteak and attitude. Go to a Panthers game and cheer for another team and you won't catch much slack. Go to an Eagles game and cheer for the Eagles and you'll still get your azz beat down.

The Mesa CLT base will be for all of their 900's that are supposedly "temporarily" replacing the 73's.

my Dr pointed out that this airline is named after an anal exam the other day...

Actually, it's a blood test used to test for signs of prostate cancer. I think your Dr. just likes you more than his other patients.

ya we used to stay at the radisson, but alas.....our keepers state that we aren't on vacation and shouldn't expect anything more than maybe a lumpy mattress and the possibility of hot water...
