This type of argument always sounds good, but is not completely correct. You have to factor in the savings of getting rid of the fat cats pay at the top of the seniority list and their triple/quadruple vacation (making them more expensive and less productive).

Point taken. However, I don't think it will be the most senior guys that would leave. It will be more of the middle like it was at MDA. Granted a few very senior guys went, but it was not the norm. Also, if the flow starts, as you get further into the list, there is a deminishing returns effect that will happen as you will start pulling more and more junior guys. It also depends on the amount of guys ML will need. I remember in one of the agreements, there was metering. Only a certain number of guys could leave in a certain timeframe so as not to compromise the operation where the guys are leaving from...

Airway's Hub site even says U anticipates having to hire off the street for the 190. I know its rumor, but the source is reliable.

That's the most stark reality of the situation, too. That question is in the June 23 Weekly FAQ, and the question specifically framed the CEL list versus hiring off the street.

The answer specifically said they'd hire off the street. Check it out.

Oh, well. Looks like the guys that flowed up stepped in a pile of lucky shoot, and came out in a brand new suit. Enjoy your good fortune, mainline fellers! Short term hiccup in your career ends up being much shorter than the mainline furloughees, and you'll be up front and smiling within a year.

Hopefully that's the silver lining to having the carpet ripped out from under you at MDA.

I did see that as well, hopefully it will be worked out prior to the need for any new hires.

The FAQ question and answer was posed to Kirby when the MEC met with him regarding the 900's. Good thing to remember is that the company controls who is hired, not the union..
