It really is amazing the number of people who check the box saying willing to work extensive nights, weekends, holidays, relocate, etc. Then a lot of them still complain about it anyway. Try to get based somewhere where a lot of people commute and move. If you are lucky enough to have locals you can move to the base and be home every night. I dunno about every other airline but at skywest we have more than just 4 day trips. 4 day trips are fine if you commute. If you live in base however when you get the seniority you should try to bid locals, 2day, 3day trips. You have to tuff it out on reserve and as a jr lineholder for a while. Once you stick it out for a while there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I like Pizza!!!!!!!
We have so many gay f/a's...that they call PSA...Pump Some Ass, Airlines.
do the letters P.S.A. stand for anything?
Yep, just tough it out. Then you'll have to upgrade and your schedule will suck again, but just tough it out. Then you'll want to goto a legacy/LCC so your schedule will suck again, but you can just tough it out. You'll then have to upgrade at the major/LCC, but tough it out. Then it'll be time to retire if you didn't already medical out from the stress of toughing it out.
Then leave the buisness if you are that unhappy about it. Working holidays and weekends is a fact of life in this job. Why on earth did you spend all that time and money to get here if you don't want to work weekends. I myself do not upgrade. I do all day trips, home every night. I don't need the money. It is allabout finding a situation you can handle. If you can't handle then don't let the door hit ya on the way out. What are you going to do try and make the union force a contract saying all airlines will not fly on holidays and weekends?

They used to stand for a once proud airline that was based in San Diego, CA. They were Pacific Southwest Airlines. Other than name and logo...there is NO relation between the 2.
Check out http://www.jetPSA.com. Their F/A's used to wear hot pants and mini skirts.
With great honor and pleasure PILOT754 is officially been offered employment and a training date of MAY 21, 2007 with PSA AIRLINE (USAIRWAYS EXPRESS) !!!!!
Wow! Now you can fly those kewl shiny jets for $20 per hour at one of the crappiest airlines in Earth! But hey, maybe this will get you some chicks!
How sad.
we are interviewing the cream of the crop now.
There was only one candidate with time THAT low. Another guy only had 500 TT but he built all of it in the Airforce. Regarding the 350 hour pilot, he was actually a pretty cool guy who was rather sharp. I don't think any CAs would have nearly as much of a problem flying with him as they would half the other folks that were there who had over 1000 TT.we are interviewing the cream of the crop now. At the training center i ran into candidates that had less than 350 hours. Just think the senior captains might have to learn how to program the FMS now with the new talent pool.
Let's just hope that the "half" I mentioned above is this half. It's probably a good thing they cranked up the moderate/heavy chop for the sim and the more I think about it, the more it all adds up.It doesn't matter how you do on the skills test. I heard that at the last interview session over half of the pilots hired by PSA didn't pass the sim portion of the interview.
I love it!!! Check out the original poster's other threads to see how true this is. Pilot754 had been turned down by, I kid you not, I believe 10 other regionals. PSA is really getting the very best of the best now. To the CA's who fly with this one: Good luck.
Found some of his earlier posts:
I have been at way too many 121 interviews already. It is over 10 of them and no offers. Since JAN 07 been to ASA, COMAIR, CAPE AIR, Republic, Skywest and Skyway this past week. Not to mention my attempt for Regions Air.
Wow...
